I was born and raised in the 'stink of the east' Fall River Massachusetts.

Hung around Newport RI, Providence RI and learned the blues chops playing/hanging around some of the worst places known to mankind. (why is that?)

Wammer Jammer was one of the first songs I learned on the harp.

Now I'm 'semi-retired' living in the farm country of North Carolina. (What a culture change, but loving it)

Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa.

"Borrowed" a Hohner Silverstar from my ol' man maybe 5-6 years ago, but never got around playing much.

Discovered Adam's video's on Youtube about 6 months ago and fished the harp out from a desk drawer and I haven't put it down since. :D

That little Silverstar was my first victim of harp tweaking... I have since fixed most of the damage done (with the help of a couple of vid's by Buddha and Elkriver IIRC, so thanks :D) and it's playable again (it now does service as my keep-in-the-car harp). Since then I've bought a couple of other harps, but I'm still searching *my* harp.

Adam's lessons have been invaluable so far on my short journey, so big thank you! This forum has also become part of my daily browsing habit, so I thought I might as well join and join in on the fun! :D

Don't know how I missed this the first time, except I was cyberly occupied about Cutler traded to Da Bears.
( Yeah, I'm a Bears fan! ).

B. Rockford, IL....used to be nice for a larger, mostly blue collar city....then the elm trees went and most of the good jobs are gone. All relations died off or moved away.

High school years spent Galena, IL. Used to be a funky, historic town full of characters...then the yuppies started buying the old houses to "B&B" them and other touristy gentrifying, driving the prices up and bringing snobbery with them.

Went off to college in Freeport, IL...another midwest dump.

Spent most of the next twenty-five+ years in SE Wisconsin, near Lake Geneva.
This afforded frequent visits and gigs to Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison, and environs. Best part.
Worst part = SNOW ( Hey Jaybird803 ! )

Last five years Central Coast, Cali.
Beautiful weather, wine, expensive digs, California girls, and some of the cheapest venue owners ever!

Lots of musicians and plenty talented for what they do, but finding ones that can do a simple shuffle or a rhumba are peculiarly hard to find.

Don't miss the snow one bit!

I was born in Bronx, NY in 1955 and moved to the Boston, MA area when I was 10 bcause the old Brooklyn Navy Yard, where my father had worked, closed down and he was transferred here.

I still live in the Boston, MA area and have been playing for some 30+ years, largely pro. I've been on the road with some people like Luther "Guitar Junior" Johnson, Sunnyland Slim, Louisiana Red, and the late, great Jimmy Rogers (Steve Guyger succeded me in the harp chair).

I've done a few different recording sessions over the years and one in particular was being a part of the soundtrack for the movie "Fried Green Tomatoes," and the tune that was used on the soundtrack (only in part, and the CD's available on the MCA label) was a cover of Lightnin' Slim's "Rooster Blues," and it is listed as being done by Peter Wolf & Ronnie Earl and The Broadcasters. The lineup was Peter Wolf on vocals, Mudcat Ward on bass, Per Hansen on drums, David Maxwell on piano, Ronnie Earl on guitar and myself on harmonica.

The link to my website and my CD is listed on the signature below.

I'm honored to be in the company of such varied and harp-loving folks. You've all taught me a wealth of things already. Thanks
Born Erie Pennsylvania 7/17/51. Dad was a Jazz & big band trumpeter. Moved to Astoria Queens New York from
age 6-29. Dug Van Morrison w/ Them and Brian Jones w/ Stones and formed band NY Central(harp-lead vocals). Recorded for RCA in 70's.
Moved to Las Vegas in 1979. Morphed into restaurant mgr who has 4 sons in their 20's, 4 ex-wives & a current (and hopefully final) one. I write strong blues tunes and sit in with friends around town (I'm currently living in Reno, Nevada for last 15 yrs)Thanks a million Adam for all you've taught me and for being a righteous guy in a wild and occasionally less than righteous world.

It looks like I'm the northest member of MBH as I live in Oulu, small (actually Finland's 6th biggest) city in the northern Finland. At least when you look at that map.

I might be the northest guy in the world who has managed to learn to play all the notes required for chromatic playing of diatonic harmonica... :)

Hello folks, I love this site, thank you Adam!
I picked up harp when a MB was 5 bucks, and was bending notes soon after. While I've never stopped playing, and I could play with some feeling and impress some non-players, I never progressed very much from a technical standpoint: And I was always in awe of Little Walter, Walter Horton, Junior Wells, Alan Wilson, Norton Buffalo, Charlie Musselwhite, Adam, Gary Primach, Studebaker John, and a huge fan of many many other blues players, harp and otherwise.

While I've been around the country, and south of it, and have been on quite a few stages performing rocking spoken word and poetry, I've always returned to somewhere in Kentucky, and I'm currently in the central part of the state.

I'm from West by God Virginia.I've been interested in playing the Blues for years.

I've had harps before but never did much with them.Through a quirk of fate I got hooked up with a couple of super Blues men,(in my opinion anyway)and the guitar player lives only fifteen minutes away.

My interest musically are playing Blues guitar and now the harp also.I'm retired and finally have time to really learn to play. I guess I'm ramblin'....so I just wanted to say hey..

I am from Tiptonville, Tenn in the Tenn Delta, yes there is a delta in Tenn along the Mississippi river south of Cairo Ill. They raised cotton there too. I saw Sonny Boy 2 (Rice Miller)playing on the street there long ago. He was camped out in Cairo Ill at the time. There were plenty of juke joints in Tiptonville, Now I reside east of Memphis Tenn , about 6 miles east. Beale St is about 20 miles west from me.
