Excluding the obvious talents of Adam & Chris and just so there are no accusations of nepotism! Who is the one modern harp player today that you would pay good money to see playing live. If you have a link or embedded vid of the performer that would be great. Difficult this maybe, just ONE player.

I've got at least two in mind, so got to mull it over a bit longer.

Since, this assumes that the player must still be alive, I'll pick two. Billy Branch and RJ Mischo. The list of non-harp players that I want to see is bigger.

I really like RJ Mischo as well. Saw and talked to him at SPAH this year. He's great but doesn't get mentioned as much as you would think.

Rod Piazza. Im at work so I cant post a vid.

The rest of my list I have already seen live in either Philly, SPAH, or Pocono's Blues Fest. And it's quite an impressive list including some you guys mentioned plus james cotton!

Yeah theres a number of deceased Id pay good money to see live. Also broken up bands I want to see live again as they were that I wont name.

Some great picks here guys, difficult to stick to one though!!

But I would have to choose JJ Milteau for his wonderful style and versatility.

And it pains me to say this as a Brit! Nah only kidding J'adore Le Francais! :)

What's good money???

Me and the gang at The Harmonica Club would like to catch Geneva Red in one of her performances, but we never can find out where she will be. We saw her youtube clip and would LOVE to her her in a small venue or bar.

Her web site has been no help. We've been waitin' over a year to find out where she will play.

I have paid to see Adam! Great show. I'd pay to see Buddha, just some I could make funny faces at him from the front row. I'd love to see Jason Ricci, Brendan Powers, maybe Bad News Brown, Son of Dave, Howard Levy, JJ Milteau, Charlie Musselwhite, James Cotton,...

Actually, it would mostly come down to if I had money and if I could get there. Unfortunately, I rarely have money and with a 20 year old car I can't always get there.

Son of Dave is a fun gig. The guy is a real entertainer.

I would have paid to see Jason Ricci & New Blood, but they never came to Blighty and now it'll never happen :(

Frankly I'd pay to see any 'name' player - old school, modern whatever.

Well, since it must be a harmonica player I have decided David Bowie. He played harmonica on some tracks. I love David Bowie. Wouldn't pay big money to see any harmonica player.

If I have to narrow it down to one I'd have to say Jason Ricci. No wait, Son of Dave. No wait... no, I can't narrow this down.

I would definitely pay for him. He is the future of harmonica.

I'd also pay for Son of Dave, in a heartbeat.

Also, Brendan Powers, although I got to see him for free. I've also got to see Chris (Buddha) a few times for free now, but I would definitely pay to see him. Of course Adam and Jason too.

Money, what's that? I would pay a reasonable amount to see Lee Sankey, love his vids on YouTube. He has a talent for teaching just like Adam does, i.e. he explains things in simple terms that a newbie like me can understand,LOL.

A non blues player I'd pay to see would be the late, great classical chromatic player John Sebastian Sr. (the father of John Sebastian, better known for his time with the Lovin' Spoonful and the old theme he did for the 70's TV show, "Welcome Back Kotter").

Bob, John Sebastian jnr was a great diatonic player.
I have an old Lovin' Spoonful '45 (remember 'em) with a killer instumental on the 'b' side.

MrV, Saw Son of Dave in Bristol a few months ago and yes he is a great entertainer.
Eddie Martin (one man band set support) before was on a different level for me; but the kids LOVED son of Dave, I see your point.

Son of Dave is a good player, but not technically great . The finished product IMHO is far greater than the sum of the parts.

My in-laws won a bunch of CDs at a folk festival. One was an Eddie Martin CD which they gave to me - brilliant stuff!

BTW If dead people count, then my list suddenly got a whole lot longer!

I've already payed about $300 for seing Howard Levy live (flight, food etc...) And it was great, two complete gigs at festival, conversation, personal lesson, great jam with Mr. Levy.

For future, I'd say I'd be glad to see Jason Ricci's performance. Also I want to see Richard Hunter and John Popper.

Holy smokes, I'm jealous! I'd easily pay the same.

John Popper would probably cool. Especially if I could travel back in time and see Blues Traveler.

@greyowlphotoart - I've seen pretty much everyone that I've wanted to see. I picked Billy and RJ because they are both great guys to hang with.

I always like seeing Bobby Rush. Even though, he isn't the greatest harp player, he puts on a helluva show and is one very cool guy.

I would rather see a player that puts on a solid show, than see some self appointed technically "world class" player with no presence.

Although I would pay, Sugar Blue is playing this Sunday in a Free music festival on Kiawah Island, SC. It's a few miles south of Charleston. I'll definitely be there, and if anyone else is in the SC low country, would love to meet you there.

Silver, he played on a few others, nothing special. But, I won't pay big money to see any of the guys listed. David Bowie is the only one I'd pay at least a hundred to see.
