I've been away on a road trip for two months. What's new here?

Well...

apparently some folks think amp A sounds better than amp B, others say that overblows have no place in blues and amazingly some people have been arguing that one embouchure is better than another. Oh and we're all blowing too hard.

Welcome back. I was off for a bit too, with a broken computer. I'm using a borrowed one until the replacement gets here. I think also there was an argument over whether OOTB's were OK or if you needed a custom. Tooka has a cool thread where anyone with artistic skill can post their pictures of their paintings, and there is this giant ad for an event at the bottom of the page, but the event is over. Looks like it was fun though!

and most people are having ridiculously long signatures on all their posts with pictures in them so you have to scroll a lot.

I'm here to humour lumpy with my blinged-out signature. And most of us are and always will be 'newbies', still.

Music is your own experience, your own thoughts, your wisdom. If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn. They teach you there's a boundary line to music. But, man, there's no boundary line to art. - Charlie Parker

Some think that sucking is better than blowing but seeing that I am just a girl I don't hardly notice the difference...!

Jason may or may not be going through tough times.
Some people may or may not have insulted him.
He quit the forum.
Welcome back.

well, ive been seeing an absolutely SMOKING broad for a while (no pics, sorry), we just got back from gatlinburg tn yesterday, i still cant overblow the 1 hole, i hate my job, i struggle with occasional loose bm's, my son is repeating 5th grade at my request, i still dont have all the harps i want, im hoping to sit in with PT again soon, and, well... umm... I DO see advancement in my playing every time I play, and have stayed away from that ever present "plateau" we all hit every now and again. welcome back dude.

Cheers Oisin.
Oh year, that thread. I couldn't find anything there which was even remotely insulting. People doudbted the origings of those videos, which is understandable. I think Jason overreacted alittlebit. But then again, he went to hell and back recently so he is probaly quite sencitive to even minor annoyancses.
Anyway,I personally wasn't participating in the forum for a while cos I was practicing :) And it is paying off, I have done a lot of work on tongue blocking. Still need to do more work on timing, this is my weakest point but I will fix it eventually.
One more thing. We have attended Masterklass with Paul Lamb recently. What a nice guy he is, reminds me of Adam, very open, frendly, doesn't hold anything back. He was talking about tongue blocking vs lip pursing a lot (not again). Apparently, he does not TB holes 1-3 at all!!! Paul is a massive fan of Big Walter style and according to him this is how BW played himself. Anyway, I don't want to open this can of worms again.
Welcome back geezer
