This was my very first blues album. It was my introduction to real blues. A high school friend gave it to me because he was a harmonica player. This person is the person who taught me the chromatic and how to play third position.

He passed away two hours ago. Coincidentally, He was an athlete and avid marathon runner who died from a heart attack while running.

This situation for me is yet another example of why I believe in psychic powers. I was listening to this very album all afternoon and then I got the call. I was the first person his wife called.

Not looking for any sympathy here... just sharing a moment of blues in my life.

Thanks for sharing Buddha. There's s definite Karma in the timing of the events. I wonder if your friend knew the demon he was releasing when he introduced you to the harp? Good memories in those jams I'm sure.

I hadn't heard that album before but I think I'm going to hunt it down and give it a listen.

My condolences.

My wife is very intuitive...I read this to her and she said this type of thing is really more commonplace that one would think.

I always have to tell her to get out of my head!

Sorry about the loss of your friend, Mr. Buddha. My sincere condolences to you.

I'd like to offer another story about how strange contacts occur with some people during the moments that other people, either personally known or not, are dying. You can take me at my word or not, but at the hour that David Carradine was found dead in his hotel room, I was watching "The Long Riders", the classic film about the Jesse James gang in the Old West which featured David Carradine.

Chicago is 13 hours behind Thailand, so after hearing the news, I thought it was a strange coincidence that I had just been watching a movie with David Carradine.

Having contact with a famous person's art or work near the time of their death is probably a common enough occurrence (be it a movie, music, or book, etc.), and it was probably just that, except when I started thinking back to the evening that I watched the film, and after examining the time lines, I determined that the approximate time of Carradine's death was within the half hour that Carradine, portraying Cole Younger in the movie, was having the Bowie knife fight in the Texas saloon with Sam Starr, played by James Remar (of "The Warriors" movie fame).

Not trying to be spooky, but it's a true story.

Buddha-sorry for your loss. There is some karma there. Perhaps he was saying goodbye.

I rarely remember my dreams, but 1 night I dreamt about Ray Charles. That day I heard the news he had passed.

Sandy needs to learn some respect.

The first person that gives me Sandy88's real identity with complete contact info gets a free harp.

In fact, I'll give you one of the harps I made for Jason Ricci.

Just read this post. Moving past all the nastiness brought by Sandy88 (how is that person still allowed on this forum, when we've kicked off other folks who've done FAR less damage?), I wish to offer my condolences to Chris, and let him know that I feel his pain. Sorry about your loss, brother!

there are two kinds of people...folks who talk about ideas, and folks who talk about other people...
I have lost 4 dear friends over the last 5 yrs. More friends than most people have in one lifetime. I consider myself to be very lucky to have known them. All of em, I was super close to....
I know your pain, bro. It sucks...
Because all the memories and good vibes will always be in our hearts and minds...
A huge pity, we have to wait nearly an eternity to get together again. And there is no promise of that ever happening, either. I'm a believer in the paranormal, the esoteric sciences, psychic powers, remote veiwing, etc etc...and I barely know you.
I have chimed in on many of the forum subjects you comment on. I consider you a credible, honorable, and knowledgeable man....my sincerest condolences.
p.s. Mean people suck.

That is a solid video.
BTW im skeptical about these sorts of things, but the society and our perspectives of the world are far from what is real. With the possibility of other dimentions and alternate universes and things like anti-matter; what we see with our eyes and the social constructions that were in place before we were born often distort what is truely important in this world.

P.S. i believe religions and things of this nature should be allowed on this forum, all that members have to do is take them with a grain of salt thats all. Just because people say things doesn't mean you have to believe them or take it personally.

and chris, everything is connected... or it could just be a coincedence ha

Buddha,

Aloha to you, your dear friend, and teacher. Im sure he is proud of
the joy you have found with the harp and the friends and students that
have also found you. Let it continue for all of us to learn and share together. Here is a song that is shared when a dear friend moves on in the Hawaiian Islands.

Here's an idea. Why don't all members (besides posting a picture) give their real name? This would have to be verified by the moderators, but I know that other sites do this, so it shouldn't be a problem. It may stop some of the trash talking that goes on here. If you have a problem with that, than you probably don't belong on a forum designed to bring people together. Of course if you are a super hero it's understandable.

Chris, my condolences.

Sandy88's post was not particularly sensitive; in fact, it was insensitive. But it was well-intentioned, and it did not violate the forum creed. (I'm speaking about the 3-4 lines that were forwarded to me by Narcoran, who made the right judgment call, nevertheless, in deleting Sandy's post.)

Chris, I'm genuinely sorry for your loss. But your threats against Sandy88 are beyond the pale. I'm locking this thread. If you make similar sorts of threats against Sandy88 or anybody else in the future, I'll be forced, to my great regret, to boot you off the forum. If you don't understand how the sorts of threats you've made are wildly out of line with the forum creed, please reread the forum creed. Assuming the best, in my case--and this case--means I'm assuming that you deserve a chance to get beyond the rage at Sandy88 that your grief seems to have precipitated in you. But I'm not a hypocrite, and nobody is permitted to use this forum to make the sorts of threats you've made. I booted Nasty off the forum for less.

As for the rest of you: reread the forum creed and tone it down a little.
