I'm happy to share big news. "Satan & Adam," the documentary film about my longtime duo, is not only finished--as in, really and truly finished--but it is premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival in late April.

"Satan & Adam, directed by V. Scott Balcerek, written by V. Scott Balcerek, Ryan Suffern. Produced by Frank Marshall, Ryan Suffern. (USA) - World Premiere, Feature Documentary. One was a demon on guitar; the other was fresh out of school and no slouch on harmonica. Satan & Adam is a rousing celebration of the blues that comprises documentary footage shot over the course of two decades. With Sterling Magee, Adam Gussow, The Edge, Rev. Al Sharpton, Harry Shearer, Quint Davis."

Sterling and I will be there, along with my family. I'll post info about showing dates/times as soon as I'm able.

That's great. I hope the film goes over well at the festival and gets a good distribution.

Congratulations Adam. It must feel great to have your experience captured and preserved forever :) Most of the blues greats never got such an experience as filming was so expensive then. Walter

Congratulations! I feel like a child waiting until Christmas morning to open the gifts. And the opening at the Tribeca Film Festival - hometown to where it all began. I want to go, being I live about fifteen minutes from NYC, but being I have some physical issues, I'll do my best to make it.

I should add an important advisory here: I haven't actually seen the documentary! Scott is going to screen it for Sterling and me, and Sterling's friends and family, down in the Gulfport area two weeks before the Tribeca FF screening, but to this point, I've only seen little bits and pieces. I haven't seen 95% of it. But Scott tells me that it makes people cry--in the best way. So I don't think he's setting me up for a ritual public humiliation.

The Tribeca screenings may be the only chance most people will get to see it for the next 6 months to a year. The whole point of the festival is to sell it to a big distributor--Netflix, etc.--so that it eventually airs on TV and/or in theaters, and is eventually sold as a DVD and for streaming. I'm 100% sure it will eventually be a DVD and 93% sure it will be picked up by a distributor. But there's a time lag for that.

Huge congratulations Adam! Can't wait to see it. There are a few people up here in Haldimand County that have heard the folklore of this documentary. I'd love to organize a screening at some point after the Tribeca dust settles!

For those who might be interested in attending one of the Tribeca FF showings, here are the showtimes. I'll be there for the first and second of them; Sterling will be there for at least the first and maybe both. Tickets for individual showings, as opposed to packages, go on sale March 27.
