Tooka that's a great idea. Like you said, simple but effective. I think you could get these made pretty cheaply and I know I would buy one.

A simple and brilliant solution! Especially for those of us who don't have space for a large light table (or who's spouses won't allow such things)! Also means that you don't gotta take the damn harp apart everytime you need to do alignments! Thanks!

Very clever tooka! That's using your noggin!
Many years ago i worked in a shop fixing brass, reed, and woodwind instruments.
lowering a light down into a saxophone was one way of checking for leaks. Same principle here.

Not only can you check your reeds but also if your reed plate is completely flush w/ your comb on sandwich/MB type harps.

@MP you are right, I never thought about reed chamber to chamber air tightness checking.

Just bumping this up so the weekenders catch it. It doesn't deserve to die just yet.
