As a certified gearhead, I've done my share of buying and selling. There are a few individuals I run across who always come through with a quality product and good customer service. I've noticed Bigtone posts from time to time and he always seems to have great stuff at fair prices. Bought an amp from him last month, it came next day and was everything he said it was. Great guy and easy to deal with too. I'll take special interest in any future items he posts. It hasn't escape my notice that a lot of players have high praise for Rockin' Ron. I haven't bought any new harps in a long while but will certainly check them out next time I do. I bought and sold a lot of camera equipment on ebay over the years and later the same with music equipment. Sometimes I get a good deal, other times, not so hot. Who do y'all recommend?

Rockin' Ron's is great for harps. Tube Depot in Memphis (and online) is great for... Tubes! Fast shipping since they are right at the FedEx hub.
Look for Gravity Music Gear on eBay. They are here in Denver, but I've been shopping them since before I moved here. They sell used gear, sometimes at bargain prices. They ship quickly and have always been cool.

Greg jones. 1623 harmonicas Eezyreeder on ebay. Is quite accommodating Rockin rons Musicians friend plus coupon code for some stuff Greg hueman for all sorts of things Ron sunshine has treated me right Lonewolf blues for kick ass pedals Kinder despite horrid contacting luck for the kinder afb+
Great experiences with the following for online guitar stuff
Cream city music Joel at shanghai guitars Streetsounds in NYC Ludlow guitars Proguitarshop
I would like to take a minute to really talk up Greg jones. He is my seydel source. He treats me great and is a genuinely good human being. He also builds the harps I want. Sets up a mean harp and is very reasonable with pricing that is reachable for a musician on a relative budget. Meaning customized to a level it plays great and priced at a level where its a no brainier over stock for me.

I'll second the motion on Greg Jones / 1623. Great guy to deal with and very reasonable for what he does. Ben Bouman of beta harps also does excellent set up on Seydels as does Jim - though his turn around time is longer. I guess Elk River is no longer - or I'd give him a nod too.
Greg Heuman hardly needs a mention here. Great volume controls as well as mic.s A true craftsman.
Rockin Ron's - near instant shippng and good pricing too. ----------

Great idea for a useful thread Rick. Over the past years I've had nothing but great experiences doing business with these people and recommend any of them without hesitation:
Tom Ellis Pete "The Jukester" Sheridan Skip Simmons Michael Clarke (Clarke Amplification) Chuck Gurney Greg Heuman Ben Bouman Ron Sunshine Jeffery Spoor Dave Scudamore (Harpaholic) Jim Rosen (jimr)

Rockin' Ron's is fantastic. Customer service top notch, and the shipping is incredible fast. I have ordered from him about three times, and have always been pleased with the products/service.
Greg H and randy from lone wolf are also great!

The Music Center by my house is pretty much the only place I go to. My family had been going there for church equipment since I was a kid.

I'm going to give a hearty second to Little Ricky's endorsements above to both Rockin' Ron as well as Gravity Music Gear. Rockin' Ron, because he's a prince of a man to deal with, and Gravity because he's my younger brother.
And, of course the estimable Mr Huemann.

Rockin' Rons for harps
For custom combs- Tom at Blue Moon Harmonicas. Chris at Blow Your Brass Off David Payne Arzajac
Then there are ones that I recommend, just by reputation, and how helpful they've been in just being helpful to harpers in general, like Greg Huemann.
I also like some of the fun products over at Turboharp. I'm waiting to see if they manage to add magnets to more reeds.

I've been waiting three weeks for a couple of Manjis from Jeff at HarpMart. He said they would ship in a couple of days when they were ordered, and he has not returned numerous emails and phone calls requesting the status of my order. Its not an emergency, and I'm understanding, but don't just ignore me.
Seems like basic business stuff, I don't get it.

I would suggest looking at www.themusicoasis.com. He for the best prices I have found anywhere. He only carries Hohner, Lee Osker, and Suzuki. All in the blister package.

I've used Coast to Coast Music for a couple things. But for harps, if I'm not on a time crunch and buying local, Rockin Ron it is. I especially like that he's recently started selling my budget priced Huangs. Comes in very handy! ----------

I have bought several items from Thomanns (a german on-line company) and have always been happy with both their prices and service....very good communication. Don't worry...they have an english version of the site. They sell the most massive range of musical items you are ever likely to see.

In Europe, Thomann is fantastic. Good prices, good selection, speedy delivery, excellent service, 3-year guarantee, and free shipping in 18 countries with a minimal order size. Very reliable.
Since they are based in Germany, I also like tp think that their Hohners and Seydels are "fresh from the factory" - a bit like buying warm bread.
