I think the sites been up for a little while at least. I went on a few weeks ago to see about grabbing a Crossover t-shirt. $15 sounded great...until I noticed Hohner is charging a $20 flat rate shipping charge for the items. Yikes

I didn't check the shipping. There was hohnerwear.com, but it has been down a while. I got tweeted the link and thought I'd share. I at one time ordered off hohnerwear.com last year and shipping was cheap. I remember telling my wife that I was going to get a shirt shipped for under $20...because she is way cheap. ---------- Mike Quicksilver Custom Harmonicas

Cool products, but... A $5.00 poster that costs $5.42 to ship?? And this is a domestic location??? Whenever it costs more to ship the item than the item costs, that is a serious red flag. You WILL NOT be able to sustain a successful internet merchant business with that shipping to item cost ratio. And that's the truth. ----------

Hello everyone. My name is Bart and I work for Hohner and I built www.hohnershop.com. The site just went online and I'm still working out some of the kinks so please bear with me. First off I'd like to thank Adam for providing this forum and to everyone here for their feedback which is invaluable to me.
To Swezey8 regarding the shipping, there is no $20 flat shipping rate. You are able to choose the shipping method. Currently the cheapest is USPS for around $5.40 give or take.
To isaacullah I agree the shipping for a $5.00 poster shouldn't be more than the poster costs so I made the poster cost $15.00... just kidding!! I changed those to a flat shipping rate. The posters for $2.50 and stickers for .50 shipping. Hopefully we'll have some harmonica related posters soon.
I've added some discounts in there, free shipping for orders over $50.00 and $5.00 off for orders over $65.00, plus all return customers get a %10 discount on their next purchase.
As for harmonica parts we will offer a more comprehensive line of products over time, these are our top selling/most requested items. We will also be offering accordion parts fyi.
I want to make the pricing as competitive as possible and I will lobby to that end. If there is a part you can't find you can always call us at 1-800-446-6010 and ask for Harmonica service or email accshop@hohnerusa.com.
If anyone here has a comment, question, complaint, suggestion, etc. regarding hohnershop.com or anything else Hohner web-related you may email me at bthomas@hohnerusa.com. Let me know if you have an idea for a t-shirt or other product you'd like to see too.
If you're on facebook like us at facebook.com/HohnerUSA and you can reach me there as well. I will be giving away some Hohner shirts and other stuff on there as soon as I have time.
Thanks everyone for playing Hohner!
Best Regards, Bart

Thanks for the info Bart!
When I checked sometime last week there was no option when I was checking out for a dropdown box. But I tried again after seeing your post and you are absolutely correct- $5.25 was the cheapest option. Much better than $20!!
Appreciate the post

@Bart:
The available parts inventory on hohnershop is pathetic. No covers, no screws, and NOTHING for Golden Melodies at all. If Hohner is going to sell parts, why not have a reasonable selection of parts available for sale?

@Bart:
I'd like to echo hvyj's comment. I need a SP 20 screw (it rusted so to open my harp I had to destroy the screw).. Would be nice to have a few spare parts around.
As for SP 20 reedplates; I can get new SP20s for 33 to 35$ each, shipped. 31 for the reedplates?

Hvyj, give them some time! They just went online. :)
It seems to me that, Hohner logo or no, lot's of bluesmen would prefer something other than baseball caps for our heads. (The bluesman, notables such as Adam aside, tend to be a pretty bald bunch.) Maybe you could add some more upscale chapeaus? Some derbies, flat hats and straw hats? Actually, tuques would be cool. (I just looked that up, it's the name for those knitted caps everyone wears in the winter. Black with red letters would be pretty cool. Or perhaps a variation of the two beer hat with a built in harmonica rack? Aside from the beer/harmonica model I'm not sure how you could brand them though.
Harmonica belt buckles?
Hohner Hoodies? (Actually, that would be a great way to carry harmonicas!)
You should also mention how much storage the Hohner Crossover Thumb Drive has.

@Mike I didn't - but I really should, you're right. @groyster Wow! Probably will end up buying from rockinron's even though I am in Canada. My last harps ordered from a Canadian store took 3 weeks to arrive.

"Let me know if you have an idea for a t-shirt or other product you'd like to see too."
I would love to see more products, like t-shirts for example, that feature the Golden Melody. I'd be delighted to have a Golden Melody anything... It seems the only harp that's ever promoted is the Marine Band.

Hoodie! I am a huge fan of my Crossover shirt. Very classy. Even something as simple as the logo or a harmonica on a hoodie would be aweosme. I can't wait for posters...just about anything. ---------- Mike Quicksilver Custom Harmonicas
