I've watched most(if not all) your videos on YouTube. Let me tell ya, they're all bad ass! How long you been playing? Keep up the good work. I especially like the contrast between acoustic vs amped. Wish there where more examples like this. 703
I'm not so keen on the acoustic version, a bit bright/harsh...but the amplified version...OUTSTANDING! Really, as good as I would expect to hear for a "YT living room" clip. You should be very pleased & proud of yourself :-)
EXCELLENT STUFF!!!! If you don't mind me askin', what's a rough guesstimate of the hours you've put in on average per day either practicing or playing.
Well done, and nice choice on that Little Walter side, one of his most primal and mysterious compositions.
A note player, even a highly skilled note player could make a really ugly song out of something like that but it sounds like you were not satisfied with settling into the simplicity of the thing and that you are going after the feel of it instead. Thanks for that.
This is a pretty old thread. I didn't think it would come back around.
@gvdm, thanks for the comments:o)unfortunately I don't have Any tab for this.I just grabed my Bb harp and set about tackling it,breaking it Down bit by bit.
I think it took about 6 months of going back to parts I couldn't nail over and over again.
The backing track is from shoblues.com
@honkin on bobo , I try and practice when I can, I work full time so I don't get to play every day. When I get a day off from work and my wifes at work I will woodshed all day long,or grab an hour or so if she's out or at uni.
@groyster1 lol!! I don't live that far from Conway but alas no gigs:o(

I mentioned conway because I stayed there when I went up snowden is there any blues going on in north wales or do you have to commute to other parts of the UK?there is some great blues music coming out of the UK
@Groyster, i go up Snowden a good few times a year, even played a little harp on the summit:o)
Unfortunatly there is a zero blues scene here in North Wales or at least it must be so underground i dont know about it. I used to jam with a guitar buddy but i dont really do that now, i just woodshed alot in my small office at home.
@Steamrollin Sam, thanks dude, Shoji has some awesome backing tracks on his page and they only cost $1 each. ----------

How did I miss this? I must have been in Spain when you originally posted... Anyway, this is just really really fantastic... I love hearing what our "cohort" of MBH'ers can do these days... It's really interesting to see how far we've all come from those first days, and what we can do now. We've all got different interests and have focused on different aspects/styles/ways of playing harp, and that's really really cool. I could never play the things you play the way you play them as good as you play them, and I think that that is super cool! And yes, you NEED to be playing out now. You are too damn good to keep it at home now!
@ Isaac, thanks dude:o) your right about how far we all have come and i think its great that we've all sort of branched out into different styles. I'll get my head around harpboxing one day lol!!
I hope some of the newcomers to the harp see some of our old videos and realise we were in the same boat a few years ago.
@Todd LMAO!!, I've got a space left next to Sonny Boy on my thigh Todd. I think it would look good with a picture of you and your nice new car on it lol!!(that is one cool looking car by the way, my wife was way jelous when she saw that on my facebook) ----------
