So, doing a little pre-spring cleaning and am kind of overwhelemed by the number of those little plastic harp casesI have that come with most harmonicas I buy. I find I don't really need them anymore because I just put 'em all in my Hetrick case (awesome case by the way -- check out harpcase.com). Do you all just throw your cases out when you get 'em? Seems like a big waste (maybe Hohner should give you an option of buying them with case or without case) -- wish there were some obvious alternative use.

you can put Q-Tips in them.
they make a handy stand for a small Korg tuner. (just open the box and it fits in tilted back a bit) now you can see your tuner better.

Spare reed plates fit fine.
Reminds me that I am in wine country and how many things are made from recycled corks !

Cut about 1" off the end with a saw--then tape them all together with duct tape--about 5 by 6--stuff the whole thing into a photographer type padded bag that you get at a garage sale for about two bucks--WALLA! Cool harp case--just drop harps in. . . ---------- ==================================== Always be yourself--unless you suck. . . -Joss Whedon

Hmmmm......, I just keep mine on a shelf with some other 'collectibles', so I can see how purty they are!!!
ps... the promaster case gets used occasionally to take that 'one' harp out if I'm travelling light, its nice ergonomic shape fits snuggly in the back pocket..

I have a friend that made a pretty nice harp case using the method like oldwailer suggested.

I've always wondered how much these cases increase the price of the harp?
I like the soft pouches that Seydel includes with the 1847. ----------

I keep them and when I go to different shows and the harp players are approachable, I get them to autograph the back. I have a collection to include Rod Piazza, Cary Bell, Steve Guyger, Jason Ricci, James Cotton, Buddy Green, Mark Hummel, and a bunch I can't remember off the top of my head. Just a hobby that I strted a long time ago. Hope to get a fwe more March 27th in Tallahassee at the Mark Hummel Harmonica Blow-Out.--

the MB Deluxe box is the nicest "Mouse Coffin".
you can make an in-line volume or tone control.
just drill for in/out/ guitar jacks and the stem for your pot.

@KingoBad LMAO!!!!
@Bronxharp,
i may have a little OCD but i keep all my harps in the plastic cases they came in, in my main Tweed case. I know that sounds mental but i gotta keep my harps in the cases they came in. I've tried having my harps "loose" in the case and i dont like it, not sure why but that's how I roll. ----------

Kingo, if the mouse was in the mouse armed forces or was a mouse president you could take one of those mini american flags off it's stick and drape the "Mouse Coffin" w/ it. ----------

Lee Oskar cases have a groove on them. You can link them together (but they don't really lock). They open at the end so you could use them in a case. Unfortunately they aren't real snug so there still is some rattle room. If they'd taken the idea a little farther they really could have had something.

I think Chris Reynolds may take them on some type of trade. He uses them to ship combs in. You'll have to e-mail him to be certain.

They can store two 9-pin tubes in them, one if a long bottle.
