I'm in the process of R&D for including Manjis to make my custom harmonicas. These reeds behave differently, but we're getting to know each other. I'm starting to really like them.
Suzuki has supplied me with factory-produced hole-stamping jigs to precisely locate the screw holes (Suzuki reeds are spot welded). I'm not sure, but doubt you'll find anyone with the proper tools other than Suzuki techs, myself, and possibly another customizer or two. It can be done without them as Brendan has demonstrated in a video, but this isn't precise and could make it a very fiddly job the next time that reed needs replaced.
One thing I don't have is a lot of spare reeds, or any dead harps to recycle parts from. I'm willing to repair Manjis on a trade-in arrangement until Suzuki releases replacement reed plates (if the rumor is true!!). In other words send me some dead Manji's, I keep three and send you back one.
Has anyone played them enough to compare the durability with other brands, based on actual experience?

Can't help you on the Manjis, Joe, but wanted to say about your little cartoon in your signature.... that's the way I feel when I try tweaking my own harps.

Harpinonfire... lol.
I wonder though, if someone could make a gif like that but with someone playing a harmonica running riffs so fast they rip their face off. I don't know how to make an animation or I'd give it a try. That's about the right level for my drawing skills.

Blueharper, I don't know....that's one reason I asked about durability experiences. As a Manji player, what do you think, did you go from another brand to these harps and how do they last for you?
They've been out a year but I haven't heard many reports of blowouts. One of the reasons I've stayed back from them is not knowing how long they'll last, and not having a parts inventory to fix them.

I have found the Manjis to be longer lasting than Marine Bands and some other Hohners, but not as long as Lee oskars, which have for me, taken years of punishment.

The only Manji I had just broke some two months ago, after 1 good year of service. I Played it quite a lot and hard, as it was a D Manji.
1 year life is not bad, compared to MB (the worst for me : I can't seem to keep them more than 3 months, my only MB that stays alive is a Low F).
I had also two Half-valved promasters, the one in A just died three days ago, about the same durability than the Manji.
I'm gonna buy a Lee Oskar in A, for a try and a change. I don't think I'll buy another Manji, I always had mixed feelings about the way it sounded.

I've been practicing excessively for seven to eight months, mainly on a,d,c, their all still working. I spend the last months, on a Noble now. The only challenge Im working on right now is to go easy on the air flow. So I would say its a pretty darn stirdy little thing....

Harpwrench,I play Spiers~Harrison and Bhudda harps most of the time.I did get a few Manjis when they came out.I don't play hard and can't remember the last time I blew out a harp. But since it takes so little wind to make them loud it seems they would last.
