Hi everybody,
I don't know if I should call myself a new member or not; apparently I've been registered for a while. I tried to register several months ago and got a message that said "invalid email address" or something like that; frustrated, I decided to try again some other time. I guess I missed Mr. Gussow's confirmation email. There was a lot of animosity being vented on this forum for a while, and that discouraged me from trying again. That has calmed down considerably, and there are some threads to which I'd like to contribute, and whaddya know, I'm already registered!
About me-
I've been playing guitar and harp professionally for more than 40 years; lately, I've been more into the harp (I'm kinda bored with the guitar). I've played with many L.A. based blues artists, most notably Shakey Jake Harris, Guitar Slim Green, and Deacon Jones; in the late 60's, Angela Strehli had a band out here called Sunnyland Special that I played guitar with. There was also a great harp player from Texas in the band, Lewis Cowdrey.
For the past 10-15 years, I've played on and off with Mighty Mo Rodgers, who has quite a following in Europe. I've done tours with him, in the U.S. and Europe, and played on most of his albums. He lets me loose on a harp solo on "Goin' Fishin'", a tune on his first album, "Blues Is My Wailin' Wall".
I know there are quite a few accomplished and talented harp players on this forum, and I'm honored to become part of your community.

Welcome!

I didn't know Deacon Jones played music! I thought he was just a football player. :)

@Arnoud73-
I have a friend that has been urging me to put up a Myspace page, but I'm not sure I have the computer skills for it; I tried to read the "Harmonica forum how to" but it gave me a headache (LOL). I have the Video Professor's CD lesson about HTML; I guess I'll pull it out and try to figure it out (again). In the meantime, on cdbaby.com they have 30 second snippets of 4 of the songs on my CD; there's next to no harp, but at least you can hear some singing, guitar playing and songwriting (actually, I'm playing all the instruments except drums and piano). That's at cdbaby.com/cd/dangerousd.
@Miles Dewar-
I don't know if you're kidding or not (I can't see your face very clearly), but the Deacon Jones I'm referring to played organ with Freddie King and John Lee Hooker.

He's kidding. I used to see Deacon quite frequently when he lived in the San Francisco Bay Area. He may have been the first blues artist that I saw after moving here from Chicago.
