just got a mouse ear MB and i'm going to make it playable. the reeds were siezed up with corosion but i got them cleaned up. the covers and comb are no problem improving.
here's the biggy. the bottom reedplate is seriously winged. if you bend brass by hand you wind up with more problems than you started with.
anyone know what i might try in order to flatten this puppy? would totally, seriously appreciate any help. cheers!----------

Ive been told to take a penny & roll it back & forth on the reeds, easy though & that will flatten then...but then you'll have to regap them again. (thats a givin). Ive done it to my harp & it worked. give it a try & see. Im very new to the harp so,take my words lightly. But again..it worked for me,so. Good luck.

CHECK IT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!! it's a big, very early 1896! 30% larger. family size! it's not an echo vamper or tremelo. it's a 10 holer in the key of E and it plays great. those are not mouse ears cuz they are squared. i've never seen pics anywhere of this harp. on the bottom of the box is the price written in ink. 35 cents!

this is not the harp with the winged bottom plate. i'm only going to secure the covers and maybe gap it a bit.

@Xpun, thanks, but i mean to flatten the entire bottom plate.

MP, post a pic of the bent reedplate. I've had to do some correcting of torsionally deformed reedplates before, but I'd like to see just how bad yours is before offering any specific advice. Just want to make sure what I'm thinking of is the same thing you have!
