It's Monday night and this video won't be public on YouTube until tomorrow around 7 AM CST, but hey: what's the Dirty-South Blues Harp Forum for? Y'all are the first to see this, apart from my producer, my family, and me. Feel free to share the link, if you're so inclined. Full moon incoming.........
That is just SO damn COOL!! First time I ever had a good up close shot of your foot rig--nice video quality totally entertaining--and the music! Wonderful as always!! ---------- ==================================== Always be yourself--unless you suck. . . -Joss Whedon
Nice! So good, especially the soloing at the end! @4:00 - 5:00+. WOW. Great harp sound as always. Loved the holeshot you ripped @ 2:15! and the Mr. Roboto dance moves @ 1:50 :) ...Adam, You're an inspiration - Love everything you do and thanks for your outstanding lessons and music.

Pretty ham-y if you ask me. haha. Kidding. I like it. It's well done. Like oldwailer said, it was cool to see your rig. It's funny, I never thought about using the bungee cords to keep it from walking away. I guess if I was in front of you while you were kicking * and stomping * I'd back away from you too. Haha. Well done sir.

Wow! Great vid. Love the video editing, really well done. This one will be added to the MBH webbrain (beside the 301 other videos!) as soon as it's up for public consumption. Well...maybe not right at 7am CST. That's 5 am out here on the coast.

Damn Good job there Adam !! Thats one BAD AZZ Chevy Truck ya own also <> Luv the custom look of it an the shaved doors ,.. I just want to know how many extension cords did you use to get power to the crossroads for the amp?? LOL ---------- Simply Unique Kustom Mic's By Rharley
For some reason, when I hear that, I always think it would make good backing to a Quentin Tarantino movie. I can imagine it in the background as some frantic sh#t is going down.
I tossed that hat in the truck at the last minute and then pulled it on when it came time to dance. The dance moves are....well, the word "untutored" comes to mind. David Byrne is worried, though. I'm stealing his s--t. :(
@rharley: Heck, I wasn't plugged in out there! We just waited until no traffic was coming and then put the amps in the middle of the road. I played the original studio track on a little CD player plugged into my Mouse (battery powered amps are perfect for location shots, it turns out) that was sitting down in the trench, off camera, and played along.
are you advising us of the full moon so this thread doesnt get out of hand? not much controversy here unless folks hate great omb stuff.
imo- the music aint nothing special. it is what is expected from you. (not saying it aint very good. it's just YOU.) but the video work is outstanding!!
Wow! The hat, the scruffy look, the surroundings....I hope you will enter this in some kind of video contest? When this hits youtube, lets pass it along forum brothers and sisters! I'm impressed that you never reach a point of contention with your music...Always great, but better than the time before. The harp on the high end, and the vocals are better than I've ever heard. You don't like to call yourself a bluesman, but I can if I want to!
Very Nice. I like this very much. Fantastic stuff !! Fully embodies the blues spirit in location, visual and tone. Thanks for that. ---------- "Keep it in your mouth" - XHarp
So let me see if I got this, in addition to being a world class blues harp player, college professor and web enterpreneur....you also have a flair for awesome video production?
That was as good a music video as i've seen in quite some time.
This is a very very great clip !!!!!! Thanx for posting, I really enjoyed watching you alot !!! I shared it with the dutch bluesharp forum. ---------- www.sweetportblues.com http://www.myspace.com/arnoudbluesharp
I am impressed Adam! I hope this takes your career to new places! I can see you on the late night talk shows doing your thing and then talking some about your current and past projects, then some big rock star will dig it and you will open their tours... Thanks, guys. In answer to questions: no, neither the tracks nor the road were closed. I just threw my amps out there and hoped for the best.
We had no shooting script and we had not scouted any locations. We just piled everything into my truck and headed into the Delta, looking for good stuff. We knew we wanted some fields, some sort of crossroads, and a riverside location. We actually went to Cathead in Clarksdale and asked people if they knew any crossroads. Only in Clarksdale would people actually have paused, leaned back, and taken that question seriously.
I knew the moment I saw THAT particular crossroads that it was our spot. Only a crazy man would have set up right in the middle of the railroad tracks, so it was the right spot for me on that particular day.
I don't usually ask for big favors from y'all, but it would be a huge help if you took a moment sometime today (Tuesday) or tomorrow (Wednesday) to let your social networks know about the video. If Ted Williams the Homeless Man can go viral, a harp guy thumping on a foot-drum can hope for the impossible. I appreciate your help.
@Walter: Re: your scenario of opening for the big rock guys: Stranger things have happened. Well, that WOULD be pretty strange. But a guy can hope. I once joked, vis a vis "Sunshine Your Love" as a OMB, that I wouldn't quit until I was opening for somebody at the Garden, solo. With big amps, of course. :)

These items all impressed me: 1.Your rendition and stylized playing of the song. 2.The videography. 3.You managed to not get hit by a train. 4.Posi-Trac in your truck's rear end. I want a ride. Scratch that-I want to drive. ----------

Todd, I thought it was a P-trac too then the left side took a bite. Next time we'll have to see it on the pavement to be sure. Go on AG give us a little smoke, tire smoke that is.
Great video, really adds to the feel of the song. Considering its been done on a limited budget, the producer worked wonders. ---------- The Pentatonics Myspace Youtube
Why don't you leave some holes when you play, and maybe some music will fall out.
It's nice to see a music video for a change - vs. the webcam insta-vid. I know it's a lot of work. NIce job all around. One minor critique - As my closer friends pointed out to me when I did my 'Bad Genes' video opus, - with peoples limited attention spans, shorter is usually better. ----------
SAy Adam,. "I just want to know how many extension cords did you use to get power to the crossroads for the amp??" Was a Joke<> After seein ya truck I now know why ya want one of my mail Boxes <>LOL ---------- Simply Unique Kustom Mic's By Rharley
great job adam I posted you on my facebook and several were concerned about you being on the train tracks-I told them you were in good shape and would have been quick enough to get out of harms way-was thinking that maybe the ghost of robert johnson might have been there watching you play
Very nice. The video sets a nice mood. Desolate and empty fields. I like the clouds in the background....they add an element of foreboding. I like how the pick-up truck speeds by you. Definitely like the southern images....the shack, the signs. I felt like I was at the crossroads. I believe the crossroads is usually an an internal one. Railroad tracks are always good. Your car looks awesome. You paid homage to Sterling. It wasn't necessary but it was classy, understandable and admirable. The video has energy and movement, so I wanted to keep watching. The playing is obviously very good. Great job!

Nice video. Nice harp playing. The vocals are some of the best that I've heard from you. I know that hat has history, but you really need to get a new one. That was an enjoyable video!
@DeltaDirt: You noticed! That's my Mississippi Track Club t-shirt. Yes, it has been commodified, claimed as ad space by Cellular South. As an academic southernist as well as crazy harp guy, that is my way of recreating authenticity. That shirt, for better or worse, is NOW. My aesthetic is mongrel: it's old land, dirt fields, retro trucks, warp speed in old trucks with the help of FinalCut (an editing program)--it's all that. When I see people trying to recreate "the Delta" so that it looks like Then--i.e., whatever a Hollywood stylist imagines Mississippi 1927 looks like--I get antsy. The Cellular South shirt is what marks the video as Now. I realize that I'm running against the tide, but that's OK.
As for the hat: It's just my ol' hat. It's what was lying around. I didn't think much about it. When the time came, I put it on. I probably need a new one.
Hey Adam,I was only busting balls about the hat.I,m sure its got alot of mojo in it ,just like the video.Myself being a painting contractor finds myself digging some of my old paint shirts out of the trash that my wife trys tossing.(in fact it happened just the other day)I had to sneak it back in the house just like I do sometimes with new amps or accordians that I purchase.(Not Another One !)If there was any way of adding smell to that video it would almost make you feel like you were there.Again,Great Job All Around.
