I don't think anyone objects to any mention of karma, jesus or whatever, if its raised in a musical context. Just recently there was a thread titled 'Jesus music' or something similar and there was no problem with this. Similarly, no-one would object to Sister Rosetta Tharpe's gospel music on the grounds that its religious, Junior Wells Hoodoo man or even references to Satan (and Adam). Blues musical tradition is steeped in religious and magical references (I have a great album of early stuff called Blues Hoodoo and magical practices). Blues has long been known as the devils music (my grandma always told me to make 'a joyful noise unto the lord').

So it seems that any in depth discussion about Blues will touch on religion sooner or later; it can't all be about women, money or booze!

Use a bit of common sense. If its about music its relevant; if you want to evangelise or to criticize religious or other beliefs, the net is full of websites just for you.

Well, I view Karma in a way you may take exception to. But it is also kinda funny. So here goes:

Karma does exist. Did you ever notice that nice guys never get the pretty girls? That hard work and persistence is often repaid with penalty? The 'do everything right' crowd is basically victimized and taken advantage of by others? Ever notice that being nice makes people think you are weak? That people generally resent you if you try to help them?

Karma is real, just not in the way everyone thinks.
If good actions were truly repaid in kind, we wouldn't need laws.

Just Saying. ; )

How is this thread not at the very least blocked yet? How come the astrology thread involved going so far as to ban a member and this thread didn't even result in a warning for at least the OP?

"How come the astrology thread involved going so far as to ban a member and this thread didn't even result in a warning for at least the OP?"

Because the OP for this thread wasn't Buddha and the moderators arbitrarily make up rules as they go along, and/or selectively enforce them. I agree with Diggs: MBH has lost a lot of credibility.

If the same rules apply to everybody this thread should be locked and somebody should be banned. To do anything else is hypocrisy and pure, unadulterated, undiluted, industrial strength bullshit.

@hvjy

If this forum is so horrible, then why not leave. Instead you leave post after post (in multiple threads) whining about the exact same thing over and over. It's becoming quite obnoxious. So grow up and get over it, or leave.

Hvyj, Chris himself has asked for a member to be banned, and that was pretty much just for disagreeing with him. He knew the rules. He was reminded of the rules. Saying he was going to shove pie down someones pie hole was a threat. (Someone got banned once for making a similar remark to him.)

As I posted in one of the other threads, I was hoping this thread would just drop off. I don't have an option to do a hard 'lock' of a thread. As I posted in one of the other threads, I was hoping this thread would just drop of the board without having to drag Adam away from his time in Europe. I disagree that the rules are arbitrary. So, since so many people want this thread locked too, here we go.

THREAD LOCKED UNTIL REVIEWED BY ADAM

Although I'm sure someone will have a problem with that too.

It would have dropped off the page by now, but never mind.

This thread hasn't been locked until now because I've been out of the country and didn't realize that the inmates had run amok.

Try to be a little nicer to each other, everybody. Cultivate the egolessness of a true Buddha. Please reread the forum creed. This forum is NOT your life, just a friendly place to come and share information.

This thread is now locked.
