It got very nasty after a bit and then, I imagine someone waived a magic wand and POOF ! It was gone.

it was becoming a "full moon" thread.
i would guess either adam or a mod yanked it when the thread was getting to the lock stage.

I'm not sure. I read a couple posts in it but I was heading out the door. I didn't have time to see what was up with it. Did it have a misleading title or something? Sometimes if the title isn't clear it's hard to find it again.

Adam deleted it,... some nasty stuff was written and the guy that wrote it is gone (he actually asked for it in the thread). I don't know if Adam has time at the moment. He'll probably write an explanation when he sees this thread.

Which doesn't mean that we can't talk about this topic anymore. It was actually some quite exciting stuff.

If anyone wants to restart that thread I'd be all there and retype my answers, i.e. recapitulate the content (minus the insults in capital letters.. :).

i was enjoying that thread too.

i have no idea why people get so heated over opinions.

opinions are either right, wrong, or simply judgement calls.

i wish you just locked it so i could see if there was any good info contributed. i mean hey, the morse code thread only got a lock down.

there was no aggression in the bit that i read, just some very interesting questions.
i actually logged on this morning specifically to see if anyone had answered them.
i guessed that it may have gotten out of hand but thought there was no harm in asking.

I agree....the original post was not inflammatory. In fact the first few were very informative.....then the dung started to fly.

Yeah I like threads of this nature, but don't want to argue about it. Or I should say if someone wants to argue I'm out! There alot of people that aren't pro harp builders that have good ideas and we can all learn from each other. Share your ideas! Don't tell other people why they are wrong. If someone has a difference of opinion. State your case logically. People are more likelly to listen. And remember if you don't have anything good to say. Then don't!

The old Filisko thread was started by a new member named Hetrick. Hetrick was on a tear. His second post in the thread made two personal accusations about Joe, and Joe happens to be Hetrick's business competitor. We've been through this particular problem before; last time it involved somebody who was slurring Sonny Jr.

Several people here, including me, asked Hetrick to calm down a little. He proceeded to do the reverse. In his final post, he used very bad language--plainly violating the forum creed--and asked to be removed from the forum. He emailed me asking the same thing. I honored his request, but I would have booted him even if he hadn't made the request.

It's too bad, really. We're not the easiest bunch to get along with, but we're not the hardest, either. Hetrick flamed out, spectacularly, in one day and a total of about 13 posts.

The thread contained so much bad behavior along with the good information that I decided simply to torpedo it. It was a judgment call. Thanksgiving Day is a terrible time, frankly, to talk the kind of trash that Hetrick ended up talking.

I certainly don't mind if you start another thread and talk about Filisko harps.
