Yeah, happy thanksgiving to all those who celebrate it.
It's pretty much unknown in the UK. We know the Americans celebrate it, but we don't know much more about it than that. For example, 25th of November seems incredibly late in the year. We have harvest festivals in churches, but I'm sure they are earlier than that.
People have pointed out that we have very few bank holidays between late August and December, so I'm guessing one day Thanksgiving will be a bank holiday here!
We prefer to save up all our turkeys in order to spoil Christmas Day, lol!

Now to over indulge on tryptophan-filled turkey, stuffing, and pie, watch some football, hang out with family and friends, and try not to fall asleep on the couch before 8pm. Ahh what a day :)
Gobble Gobble everyone! Remember, everyone likes to be serenaded with harmonica during Thanksgiving dinner; I know because they always throw food at me! I don't even have to ask them to pass the potatoes!
Yes,yes..Happy Thanksgiving to all. May you all have a blessed ,safe & happy one. May you enjoy all the food, friends,& family on this day. I wish you all well. Gobble,Gobble :) ----------
@Andrew The reason we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving is because it is an American celebration. As I understand it [and the Americans are free to correct me] the whole point of it is that it was the founding fathers of the US that were giving thanks for getting across the sea to the new world safely. Or something like that http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thanksgiving_(United_States) refers. But it seems I was wrong and it was to celebrate their first harvest.
Close Lumpy..In short,It was the pilgrims, that gathered to feast & gave thanks after they survived the first year of being in the new world. Here's a good link to learn of it all. http://www.holidays.net/thanksgiving/pilgrims.htm -------
MP, oh yes, the reverse-whatever-thread. Do not worry, it just disappeared in the timewarp created by the great turkey maelstrom. That happens sometime when too many people eat too many turkeys at the same time.
