Hi Guys: I've shown my initial demo already in a couple of the OT techie threads but I've been adding to it for a week or so and I think it's ready for a more formal announcement so I've started a thread of it's own.
I'm a MBH forum and Gussow You Tube video addict. But I have trouble, and do others as I've heard complain, with finding stuff. Enter Personalbrain and webbrain. It's knowledge mapping software that gives you a navigatable web of "thought" nodes that, in this case, can be jumps to web objects like youtube vid and forum topics and threads.
I've got over half of Adam's videos and some of the top level forum threads in a MBH brain and have loaded it on to webbrain for public access.
I've indexed each video under it's title/topic and added links to topic, harp key, songs and performers.
Have a look at:
http://webbrain.com/u/11EO
and let me know if you think it would be useful for video study or keeping track of forum topics. Just click on nodes to move around. Either click on the node icon to open the page in the bottom frame (use the up/down arrow on the border to open/close) or click on the link in the bottom frame to open a new page. You will need javascript/java enabled to see the full blown brain, but it will offer a plain html version that works ok if you have java off.
Enjoy.

Hey bluemoose, that looks a great idea. I used to do mind-mapping years ago and always found that approach to be useful.
This should go into the useful links page somewhere. Hopefully nacoran will help out here. ----------

I added it to my Thread Thread. I can'figure out the how-to page. We'll have to wait for GH on that.

Yes it's been great going through the videos again, re-learning/reinforcing stuff as I go along. As I said I'm more than 1/2 way through. I try to add a couple dozen every evening and update them to webbrain. I've got a couple weeks left on my trial webbrain account and hopefully I can finish before then. Not sure what happens after then, may just be able to upload whole brains rather than on-the-fly synchronizing (which is very cool). I want to link more forum pages in so we can find the buried treasures (assuming they will be around for awhile). When I'm done I will definitely be working the topics to jump to those I need work on.

BMoose....fantastic !! Thanks! ----------

That is way cool - thanks for sharing.
Lots of good harp stuff coming up in Vancouver over the next month. I plan on coming over for at least one or two (Musselwhite and Estrin) and will see Hummel on the Island. Should I yell out "Bluemoose"!!! in the crowd?? Probably a beer named that and I'll get a bar bill ;-)

HT, I'm planning on being at both Charlie and Rick. (note to self: get tickets!) I'll wear my "Bluemoose" t-shirt with the Moosician logo on the back. :)
Let me know if you need a good pre-show dinner or a place to crash after to catch the ferry in the morning.

Well....I now have all 294 Gussow vids indexed and crossref'd in a webbrain. Check it out at the link above. It's been added into the thread thread (but I can't remember how to get there.)
I must say, again, this has been a great learning experience to revisit all the videos. I've learned and re-learned a lot. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. You don't appreciate what a valuable resource Adam has give us until you do the deep dive. Here's the road map.

When I open the link it takes me to webbrain and I can see that I'm on the correct page but the body of it is blank. I tried the HTML version and got nothing. What am I doing wrong?

The harp key cross reference for Adam's youtubes is killer. Any hope of a Jason Lesson webbrain? An overall youtube harp lesson webbrain? nice work - thanks again ----------

@9000 what browser are you using? webbrain needs javascript enabled. If the HTML doesn't work you must have some sort of filter/script block turned on.
@bone yes a Jason webbrian is next. I'll probably index it by hair colour though.

First pass at a Ricci brain. Totally different beast. Each "lesson" can cover everything and anything.

Tried some color coding this time. Enjoy.
