This is all harmonica here with various affects. A slide show. Everything in the slide show is relevant.

Hey Bluesharper I like this. Don't know how you did it but I hear looping I think, or is it Audacity?

I like anything that's a bit left-field and pushing the envelope.

I've been experimenting a bit lately myself and hope to have something for the forum once I've cleaned it up and worked out a few issues. Anyway. Keep it up I say. Kudos to you for straying from the norm.

I really like it. I've done some rough stuff with pitch shifting between tracks, but I love whatever effect you are using on the upper track. I don't have a loop pedal, but I have Audacity.

Here, in various states of polish, in response to 'has this been done' is what I've got using loops and what-not. (Turn Your Speakers down for Wail, Wail-lo, and Witwoo! They are normalized, but there is something wrong with the mix (beyond just some dissonance issues).

Soul Surgery 446 (Tracks, channel, cut and paste, pitch shift)

Thumper (Just tracks and my LLF with a lip pop)

When The Saints Go Marching In (Pitch shift (and guitar accomp.)

Whisperloop (So many things, loop, at the time I was so new I couldn't play part right 3 times in a row so I cheated)

Round Yonder Woodpile that doth Calleth (Pitch Shift)

Gottaquarta (Talking through harp, multiple tracks)

Wail (Tracks and a really cheap mic overloaded for distortion)

Wail-lo (Same as Wail but sped up and shifted down)

Witwoo (Tracks and a really cheap mic...)

So I'm trying to get in that neighborhood, with varying degrees of success.

edit- Saints and wail won't display for me. I retried a couple times. I'll try to fix them later.

re-edit- Ok, I think I got that fixed. Anyone with more recording skill know why the last couple seem so grating? (Aside from my playing!)

Nate...wail-lo sounds a little like the synth at the start of Baba O'Riley by The Who. How did you get that sound?

If I could get wail to play you could hear it... it's actually just Wail (2 tracks), pitch shifted down.

edit: Actually, I think I pitch shifted down and sped up the tempo.

Bluesharper, is there a phaser on the high part? Sorry I posted so many responses. It's your thread. That sort of stuff just gets me excited. I can move them into another thread if you want. :)

TechnoHarp thread sounds like a good idea. Or, maybe the UltraModern Blues Harmonica thread. I'm just finishing a techno 12 bar blues harp backing track in G. I'm trying to work out the best way to add harp to it. If I can't I may just post an MP3 to see what some of you guys could come up with.
