Never miss an opportunity for self promotion. I did a sketch a few years ago where I was trying to capture the childlike exuberance of a child at the seaside for the first time. I promised myself that I'd work it up into a watercolour some time in the future and finally got round to it this year.
That's great T2!! How did you do the white for the tree and the rocks? Did you actually add white (which seems hard to do with water colors) or did you use something to remove the original color(s)?
Hi Dutch. Once the paint has dried on the paper, you can re-wet in areas and lift the paint off with tissues etc to reveal the white of the paper again. Look at 4.06 and you'll see how I lift the white for the tree just using the brush.
You can add white gouache but it doesn't look very nice.
