Years back Harp-l used to put out a compilation CD.
This ended when somebody ripped all of us off myself
included.

Today you could just charge people a download fee
per cut or for the whole thing.

I think the quality of the music would
have to be pretty high. High enough for radio or
any other performance medium.

The money could go to SPAH or any charity.

So what do you guys think?

I guess you would need a committee to
pick the tunes.

That would be pretty cool. I don't think I have any radio quality songs with me playing harp, but I'd buy it!

Yes forum members. There are a lot of good players and
we might attract new ones for the project.

I think it's a great idea, especially the part about giving the proceeds to a charity. Let's come up with the right charity first.

How about donating the proceeds to retired dobro players? Or trombone players who have especially bad day gigs?

Organization or organizations? I don't know if it's still around, but there used to be a foundation called Sweet Relief. They helped musicians with debilitating illnesses make ends meet.

(Quick web search, yeah, they are still around. I've got a couple albums they released. Good stuff. They've had some great musicians support the cause.)

Sweet Relief

There are organizations that give out harmonicas too. The only one I know off the top of my head sends it to troops overseas, but since we have a bunch of different nationalities here that might not be the best choice.

thats pretty cool Diggs,I think using music to help out charity,is great. I was to harsh with my remark on your post of (who are you really),didnt know you might have a reason to want to see the avaible talent,Im sorry,i mis judged you,By the way i have allways thought your playing is great.I would love to see your project go though,I would spread the word best i can,I know my skills are not developed enough for the project. but its a good idea cause there seems to be alot of talent on here, and charity is allways good.
