I can get one of the Hohner Piedmont Blues 7-Harmonica Pack with Case for $23 on MF. I know the harps aren't much so I'll give them to my grandchildren.
I'm interested in the case. I have The Hohner 12 harp case but could use a smaller one.
Question....Is the case satisfactory and will my Golden Melodys fit??

Don't know about the GM's fitting,, but it's a very sturdy case made from a Hard Foam a very good Harp travel case:)

You know, a surprisingly useful and practical case is the Seydel hard case. Very compact and carries a lot more than you might think. It's smaller and better designed than the Hohner hard case, or the Piedmont case and GMs fit in it just fine.
Good for transport but also great for keeping harps organized and accessible on stage.

Yes, harpdude, they will fit. I have (2) of those cases. The piedmont blues harps went to my grandkids, and I use the cases for sp20s and mbs.
Guitar center has the same case with blues bands harps, it costs a few bucks more, but I think that the blues bands play a little better than the piedmont blues.(I use the blues bands to practice tweaking a little)

As Leon said, GM's will fit. I got my case for $7 on E Bay new, no harps. I like it just fine. ---------- I used to be young and foolish. Now I'm not so young.

I have a Piedmont case. I fit GM's, Piedmonts, Blues Harps, Blues Bands, Seydel Blues Favorites, SP20's, L.O.'s in it. I think I had to push the L.O.'s a little bit the first time. After that the foam was 'adjusted'. Nice little cases, and aside from the terrible taste the Piedmont's aren't as terrible as they could be. They aren't real loud but I still use a couple for keys I haven't gotten around to upgrading. If you are going to give them to kids, wash them off until the taste is gone or the kids will think you are trying to poison them.

Since the Seydel case came up.... I don't recommend the Seydel case for Golden Melodies. It won't close all the way with GM's in there, thus I crushed the covers of 2 of my custom GM's with it. It may be good for other harps though?

I recommend a 14 hole case from Custom Cases in leather if you have some spare cash

Todd is this the Seydel Case you're refering to, or are you talking about one of the other cases?
If that is the one you're talking about, that sucks. I play Golden Melodies and I thought that case looked great, and I was considering getting one despite the fact that they're fairly expensive. Well at least I know before hand that it won't work, thanks.

Yes, I was referring to Seydel, but it's not the same case as in your link.
This is the one I bought:

@Todd, I was referring to the Seydel HARD case which holds 20 harps and protects GMs very nicely. Check it out here:

@Ryan, yes this is the case you were considering. It works great for GMs. Very compact, convenient for transport, protects harps well and keeps harps organized on stage during performance. Holds a full set of 12 harps plus 8 spares in the most used keys. Surprisingly well designed and practical.

Todd, I actually had this case for a while before i realized how useful it is. First, and most important, it holds all the harps in such a way that they don't get damaged, even if the case is full. It holds a full set of 12 harps and a reasonable number of spares. The pockets that hold the harps are stretchy and tight, so if the case is open and happens to fall on the floor, the harps don't spill out. But the harps are easy to slide in and out of the slots when you want them. Open the case, fold the interior cover flaps back and you've got 12 harps and 8 spares organized and easily accessible on stage in a very compact footprint that easily fits on top of an amp or just about anywhere you want to put it.
In mine, in addition to 20 harps, I also carry a 20' XLR cord, a 6" rat tail IMT, a 545 Ultimate and an Audix Fireball V w/room to spare. If i played chrom (which i don't) I have enough room left to carry one if I wanted to. It's pretty amazing what this compact case can hold if you pack it correctly.
The exterior of the case is hard. It's not anvil case hard, (it does have some flex), but it gives everything inside better protection than you get from a soft padded exterior. Very intelligently designed. I'm not particularly careful and I haven't bent a cover plate yet using this case.
