Buddha, That ISTJ definition is a good core statment about me, and while I don't know you beyond the percentage of your 1556 posts that I've managed to read on this forum.... I'd say its pretty accurate too.
Think I'll go over an read the expanded type and see if my perceptions of you are true.

yeah I agree it's pretty accurate. I know many of you can't see my gentle and caring side via the internet but if you've met me in person, you'd see it pretty quickly.

Buddha, There in lies one of the concerns I have with web based opinions. Most people make judgement based on perception via internet verbage and not on personality or the whole individual. Here, we have often reduced ourselves to decision making against the whole of the person based on what is typed into a forum. Where a person has the best of intentions but perhaps has disagreeable verbal or written filtering methods we tend to react all wrong.
I, like others, am guilty of this very thing. We could all realize soemthing from this post if we take time to do a little personal review.
Neat post.

Yes, Xh, absolutely. We all come across differently in written(typed)communication-some express themselves better this way, others don't. Until you meet someone in person and spend time with them in different situations to experience how they react, you don't get the whole picture of their being.
That test result was fairly accurate for me, although I'd like to take it more than once to compare results. ----------

Apparently, I'm an ENFJ.
# moderately expressed extravert # distinctively expressed intuitive personality # slightly expressed feeling personality # slightly expressed judging personality
This is interesting, I've never taken one of these Jungian tests before... It seems fairly accurate, though! I suppose that as a future university prof, I'd better fit the mold for the "Idealist Teacher" personality! Otherwise that'd be a bad career choice! :) ---------- ------------------

Hobo, if you have taken it 3 times, you are thinking too much about it. Take it once and answer with your first reaction and leave it at that. Some questions you will be unsure about, others you will second guess yourself on. The genius of the test is that it takes this into account by asking the same questions from a different point of view. You should answer them as how you know you are, and not as how you want to be. If you are unsure, stick with your first choice or your gut reaction. And never ask someone else to help you. This test is designed to base your personality upon YOUR perception of the wold, not as how others see you. This is a very carefully thought out test and has been the basis of personality tests for fifty years or more.

yea your right they say allways go with your first answer,And the INFJ was it. ,whats weird is the 1st time i just took the test,I read a little about the INFJ personality after the test,the second and thrird times i tried to pick the answers i firgured were more related to the personality of the INFJ that i had read not all the answers but the close ones that i could of gone one way or the other and although i thought i would be more prone to the INFJ i wasnt on the 2 or 3 rd attempt of answering the close questions. LOL those test knew more about me than me lol

I think to get membership to the forum, everyone should sit this test, and then the forum should be segregated into personality types, to stop any further arguments developing. :-}
I've done it before, and I'm still an INTJ ( AKA an arrogant bastard )
Interesting that INTJ's are also meant to make up only 1% of the populus, however there is about 12% here so far.
Maybe if you have similar personalities together they will argue more?

Maybe I'm just a pompous twit, but...
Seeing the work of Jung and Myers-Briggs reduced to a pop quiz, a label and a paragraph of "you're like this" fills me with despair...
That said...
ENFP!
@XHarp:
/Where a person has the best of intentions but perhaps has disagreeable verbal or written filtering methods we tend to react all wrong/
Nicely put and...
Yes!
Reading generously is something we should all do.
I think, though, that the onus isn't only on the reader: courtesy, consideration, kindness, awareness that words may be misread serve writers (particularly the high-status / well-established / tone-setting members of a forum community) well,,,

Buz-i found this on your 'type': "ISTPs have an adventuresome spirit. They are attracted to motorcycles, airplanes, sky diving, surfing, etc. They thrive on action, and are usually fearless. ISTPs are fiercely independent, needing to have the space to make their own decisions about their next step. They do not believe in or follow rules and regulations, as this would prohibit their ability to 'do their own thing'."
