Hello friends,

As we ramp up for production we are always looking for great talant! We at Harrison Harmonicas, Inc. would like to proudly announce the addition of Dave Payne to our team! We are very excited to have added Dave's talents and wealth of knowledge. Please help us to welcome Dave to Harrison Harmonicas, Inc.
As Michael Peloqin has relocated from CA., Dave and his family will be relocating as well, from WV. I would also like to publicly thank them both of their dedication and for uprooting their lives for Harrison Harmonicas and our wonderful instrument! It is a true testimonial of their love for the harmonica! Thank you both!
Dave will be working directly with me in the factory as we begin production of the B-radical. --Dave, get ready for some 15 hour work days!
As a reminder Michael is our Customer Service Managing Partner. As a bonus to HH, Michael and Jason Ricci will be teaming up to offer Masterclasses in the near future. These classes are going to be amazing. Michael and Jason are not just World Class players, they are both great teachers too! It is exciting to listen to them talk passionately about what and how they are planing to offer something different. I am looking forward to theses classes, and will be attending them myself for sure.

While I am here;

We have been assembling the first lot of B-radical harmonicas in the key of Bb. They will be shipped out early next week! I am extremely proud of the B-radical! I personally can't wait for our clients to get the chance to finally receive and play them. Thank you all for your tremendous support and patience with regards to our production delays. Get ready, they are coming!!!

Warmly,

Brad Harrison

Let me say I am very thankful for Brad's bringing me on board.
On the other thread, someone asked what would happen to Elk River. I have been working hard the past few weeks making sure my customers, who are all great folks, will be well taken care of. I'm committed to that and Brad also thinks it's important that they are not left out in the cold.
I'll be making an announcement about that in the next few days, I'm fine tuning the details. Everybody will still get their orders and have somewhere they can go when they need something.
What Brad offered was, I believe with all my heart, a solid future. I've got a lot of faith in this product and its future. For me to leave the South, especially WV, you know it HAS to be something very, very special.

I sincerely hope it all works out for you Dave. It's good to know you have considered your Elk River customers (although I knew you would as you're that kind of guy).

You have always been a knowledgeable and extremely helpful source of help and inspiration to many people on this board.

Obviously you'll be busy for a while with all the work and moving etc. I only hope you get a chance to pop in now and then and impart some of your wisdom.

By the way I loved the Harp Soaking post over on Harp L. Almost made me want to go and try it! :-)

Best of luck Dave.

i think he has been thinking of his customers for a long time from the positive reviews he always gets.
he has probably been planning this move for quite a while. i would guess since he somewhat recently hooked up with that other harp repairer.
you gotta appreciate somebody who plans for the future.

its impossible to plan for the future because it doesn't exist. You can only be prepared for NOW.

Well Dave. I don't know you, but I do recall reading in horror that you were conducting unnatural harp experiments using perfectly good whiskey. That caused me to regard you with suspicion until I read further and was relieved to find out it was a lesser grade beverage than I drink. So, even though you remain suspect, you have redeemed yourself with this wacky move. Reached out and grabbed the Harrison Train, did you? Good for you. I love Pelican, he is a solid dude in my book. I wish all the best for the bunch of you.

Now, ship me my damned harps.

Thanks for all the kind words, guys. Buzadero, I would never have subjected Jim Beam to those tests.
First, everybody who has a custom order or repair order with me, they will be finished.

As far as those who regularly order stock harmonicas from me, while obviously now I'm going to say "you need a B-Rad" I want to make sure they can still get what they need as seamlessly as possible.
Danny G has been partnering with me for a while and he's been shipping stuff out for me for a few weeks already, now, he's taking it over, although the Elk name stays with me.
Danny is offering a 5% discount to Elk River Customers, even if you bought something like a 25 cent chromatic buffer tube, you're an Elk Customer.
You can't order directly from his Web site for the Elk discount, instead you order directly from Danny. Just tell Danny what you want and tell him you are a former Elk customer. Here's Danny's e-mail:
dannyg@alliancelink.com

Thanks!
Dave

I don't know you Dave, but I've read a lot of your posts and watched your YouTube stuff. And I've concluded you're one of the 'good guys'.

Best of luck to you in your new venture. It only increases my interest in this whole thing to see a devoted West Virginian uproot and head for the big city to work on this.

Seems like Brad has collected a lot of talent, and you just know that's good.

Y'all,

I'm in Rockford Illinois right now. I've not had a chance to check e-mail or anything really the past few days, cause I have been busy rocking and rolling and whatnot. I'll be able to get around to that stuff and doing some more of the former Elk River Harmoncias repairs in a few days.
I got me a pork barbecue sandwich today. They have these here, too. I asked for cole slaw. They gave it to me in a cup!! Somehow, they do not understand here in Illinois that it is supposed to go on the sandwich. I have not purchased a hot dog yet, so I can not comment on the hot dogs here, although that is very important.
It is incredible what is going on at Harrison. Those of you folks who preordered and are starting to get these harmonicas will know what I am talking about. It is insane. If I have to uproot everybody and come up here where they don't know about cole slaw on pork barbecue sandwiches, it's got to be a good product. So I did plenty of tests and stuff on my own and at every stage, I've thought "that did not just happen..."
The truth is the Harrison reeds are unreal. I wouldn't be here if they weren't.
I have abandoned all preconcieved notions of what a harmonica reed is. I'm really looking forward to when the feedback starts circulating around on these.

One of my homespun sayings is "it never feels like history when you're making it."
I tell you, though, this really does.

I like coleslaw. I like BBQ Pork sandwiched. I am, however, convinced that never the twain should meet.

Good luck.

God made cabbage so folks could make cole slaw out of it and put it on hot dogs. And pork barbecue.
Renowned newspaperman, my idol and humorist Lewis Grizzard had a similiar stance as you on the matter of slaw. We had to agree to disagree on that one. ;)

Dave,

You are in the land of the greatest hot dogs on the planet. Don't forget the italian beef sandwiches either. Another gem for hot dogs - the Romanian Kosher Sausage Co. at the corner of Touhy & Clark. Buy the garlic hot dogs (you will have to cook them yourself) and they will have excellent buns there too. You will be in meat heaven. I have not tried them as a slaw dog, but I can imagine that it would rock.

Dave, in Chicago they will try to serve you a delicious food called deep dish pizza. It is yummy, but just so you know, it is not pizza.

I actually like my slaw as a side. I put sauerkraut on my dogs. Or chilly. Or chopped onions. Mustard, ketchup, relish... but my BBQ pork, that just goes on a roll and stays naked!

I'll buy some if he makes them with nails. I'm serious, and he can give me a nail remover so I can replace the reeds. That's what I call high-tech!

Now that I am in the employ of a harmonica manufacturer, I probably can't shoot the competition anymore and retain a measure of class. My dad was better at that than I was anyway, he's the one who did the 100-yard shot ;)

Zack, I actually came up will a nail driver a while back that I used. It was a pin insertion tool from radio shack. It was for inserting pins in computer connectors or something. Kind of looks like a metal syringe without the needle. Nails would fit inside there and it had a piston inside that you could hit with a hammer and drive the nail perfectly. I've not thought about a nail for a while, until you mentioned that. That was one of the few secrets I kept. The stuff that's going on here at Harrison is way more awesome than I thought nails were!

Violin Cat, thanks for chiming in. Been thinking about you a lot and it's very nice to hear that.
