hey all,
i'd like to pick up a video or book that really gives me a good foundation for setting up my harps. things like gapping and embossing all that stuff - basically i'd just like to be able to "touch up" harps that have little problems ootb.
what you you guys used, or what do you recommend?
i see r sleigh has a book called “Turbocharge Your Harmonica Volume 1- Straighten Up and Tune Right” anybody have any experience with this particular guide?
i'd prefer a video if i could find one but really i just need a good solid foundation so book or dvd is good.
thanks for your help!

The video Oisin says which is by Rupert Oysler, the Richard Sleigh book and of course Joe Spiers, Chris Michalek and David Paynes videos (among others) on YouTube are all great resources for learning how to customise your own harmonicas.

There's loads of stuff on YouTube if you only want to do minor work. Look up harmonica reed gapping etc in the YouTube search field. ----------

There's some good solid info in Winslow Yerxa's "Harmonica's For Dummies". He has quite a long chapter on Harp Repair, Maintenance, and Customization techniques. Plus, you get a good little harp instruction book with an included CD to boot. Price was $21 US when I bought it some time last year. ---------- ------------------

No brainer...Ruper Oysler's video. Videos are way better than books in this instance...years worth of techniques to perfect in that DVD set. Thanks guys, i had already looked up gapping on youtube but was looking for something a bit more structured to guide me through. Looks like I'm going to order that Oysler video - sounds like exactly what i need.
