So, i know that the budget line reeplates are pretty much useless but what about the ABS combs?
I've been doing some experimenting and don't want to destroy any more SP20 combs :)
How do the combs of the Blues Bender, Silver Star, Hot Metal and so on compare to each other and in turn how do they stack up against the SP20 combs? Decent quality or leaky as a sieve?

Sp 20 combs are as good as any plastic combs made.....I have 2 customized sp 20 harps that still have original combs.....rubberized plastic just like used in plumbing......golden melody combs on the other hand are terrible

I've never taken any measuring tools to them, but I've swapped the different combs back and forth and haven't noticed a difference. The Piedmonts probably are the cheapest way to get them (7 for about $30, + a 7 harp carrying case.) I wouldn't swear they are as good having not done a careful comparison, but they seem to be the same. I've seen Blues Band and Pocket Pal ones taken apart too and they seem to be the same thing. If your local music shop has a Blues Band you could test on out yourself for about $5.
