Imagine that you can choose any harmonicas, amps, effects, microphones etc for free. Imagine that you don't have to carry and commutate it (e.g. you are rock star and have special personnel to do it).
What is a perfect rig for you? ---------- Excuse my bad English.

Gear-wise, I have experienced the cessation of craving and now rest in nibbana. Shure 533 Sphere-o-dyne into a Skip Simmons' Masco MA17; "don't need no stinkin' pedals."

I haven't played with enough gear to make a fully informed decision, but I suspect it would involve a full set of Seydels- all the low low tunings all the way up, as well as a set of minors and natural minors, with a few oddballs thrown in for special purpose- Spanish tuned, Four Chord, Turboslide, a decent chromatic, chord harp, etc. A full set of custom combs so I can tell them all apart. A great set of pedals- delay, pitch shift, octave, etc. A couple mics- one of Greg's custom wood ones for special occasions and one of his regular ones for practice, not sure what amp, a heavy mic stand with one of those magnetic locks to put the harp on, and a top of the line electric drum set to learn on (I took a couple months of lessons but drums don't end up being a great option in apartment living, so a house with a soundproofed room would be on my list too.) Does Farmer make an electric foot drum set? My Darth Vader harmonica case, an LED light metronome, a top notch looping pedal and a mixing board with enough memory to record the whole band for each show and a professional sound guy! (or gal)
Realistically, I'll probably pick up one of Greg's mics in the next year or so, and stick with my mix of Sp20s, Lee Oskars and refurbished pre-MS Blues Harps and my Park Amp. :(
But it's fun to daydream. :)

I pretty much already have the gear I need to get the sounds I like, either playing straight through the PA or through tube amps. I have a nice assortment of mics [several good dynamic mics suitable for harp and for vocals in the PA (I like Greg's Ultimate '58 for this), 2 Shure 585AVs for either PA or for a cleaner tube amp sound, and a Turner 22X with a ceramic element and an Astatic biscuit with a Shure controlled magnetic element for tube amp distorted sound], my own PA suitable for small to mid-sized rooms, and tube amps of varying power through which I can get the sounds I want depending on the volume levels needed. These days I prefer a lower stage volume. I have an amp modeler I seldom use except for recording, as well as a couple delay pedals and even a chorus pedal, though these days I seldom use any effects, preferring the sound of my amps. I gradually accumulated this gear through years of gigs, putting most of the modest earnings into harps and gear. Tube PA heads used to be cheap on Ebay, sometimes costing less than the value of the tubes in them.
On gigs I usually either play straight through the PA or use one of my tube amps, sometimes mic'ed. I have learned how to adjust my gear and even how to use less suitable gear owned by others to sound the way I like.
When sitting in I use either a vocal mic to the PA, or if the band prefers I use an amp I may use my "sit-in" rig: a high-z Shure 585AV to an Electro Harmonics 44 Magnum through a 10" Lil' Buddy in a small cab. Low feedback, high volume, ultra light to haul, no vintage tube amps at risk just sitting in. Small and easy to hide in a truck until needed. Several local bands have given me an open invitation to sit in anytime, but I don't make a practice of walking into the venue with an amp in hand.
With regard to a dream rig, if I had a need for massive power on stage, a Bassman like Deak's or a '65 Super Reverb would be great, but I really don't need it and wouldn't want to haul it around (I am NOT a rock star with roadies nor will I ever be one!) I have greatly enjoyed playing through one of Greg's wooden bullets into several different amps, but my biscuit serves my purposes.
I have found that if you learn how to optimize whatever rig you have to get your sound, you will lower your lust for new gear, and will save money.
That being said, it is always fun to experiment! You can learn a lot when you try different set ups. ----------

I'm a man of simple tastes, so for me it's a fairly easy choice. Blackface '65 Fender Princeton Reverb, a JT30 with 99A86 CM element, a Boss DM-2 and some Joe Spiers Stage II Marine Bands and some Mike Easton Chromonicas. I don't need anything else, except a band with players who know how to play stuff the right way.

I pretty much have anything I may need. The first and foremost is that I have the confidence that I can play anywhere, anytime, and with anyone. I do feel at ease playing through one of my own amps in varying sizes, or through the PA with stage mic, or with no mic or amp at all. I have tried may different harps and always come back to my Special 20's. So I guess I am living my dream. Boris, what is your dream rig?

A full set of harps in all alternate tuning systems. A range of mics from clean to super dirty. A really kick ass looping set up (a couple of those big BOSS floor units). Huge range of pedals and amp sims. Great, high-wattage, clean amps with big speakers capable of delivering great bass. Some rad synths for bass lines, a couple of groove boxes for drum beats, some sequencers and FX processors, and some cool DJ/MC type folks to play with, who are in to making weird blues/reggae/hiphop/alt music. ----------   YouTube! I'm with jiceblues and David Herzhaft. I'm done obsessing over gear. There is a satisfying simplicity in playing a SP20 acoustically into a vocal mic.

Mine is same as Joe's except it would be a Soulful 1st, 6x10 Harp King 2nd. IMO, the 6x10 sound better than the 4x10.

I wondered most harmonica plyers don't have too much dreams (: Anyway, reading books on time-management I got an idea of writing down your dreams. Wha rig I get in my dreams:
Harps: customized by me or any other good customizer Seydel harmonicas with polished stainless steel reeds in all possible keys (from LLF to HEb) and tunings: at least richter, solo, nat. minor, harm. minor, powerchromatic, paddy, diminished. Every harp is in four versions: 442 Hz with wider gaps, 441 Hz with narrower gap and halfvalved (or better X-reed version, which is still impossible with Seydel). Seydel 12 hole chromatics in all keys and tunings: solo, powerchromatic, dimi, richter, from LowBb up to F Some 16 holers in all possible keys (at least C, B, Bb, Db, D, Eb,E, F)
Dealing with electronics my dream is a three rigs onstage: Amplified analog tube traditional blues rig with custom tube amp, e.g. Marble or Harpgear (actually I need three for different gigs: small, medium and big), analog wireless system, some effects (at least octave, short slapback delay, long delay in the effect loop, sonic stomp, antifeedbacker and possible some drive/boost) and assortment of mics to choose: Shure 545, some custom bullets from greg, Electrovoice RE10, Electrovoice N/D967 to play rock and blues. Fractal Audio Axe FX with complex routing to PA, high quality stage monitors and tube amplifier. With great clean mic (of course wireless), possible Electrovoice N/D967 or Beyerdynamic (double ribbon?) + floor control to play experimental stuff. Clean supercardioid mic on stand (Sennheiser 441?) with some transparent tube pre, possible some compressor and delay and reverb in parallel loop.
