That's great stuff. She's got a wonderful sense of how to build a texture.
Here's an article. She's a Hawai'i native and lives in Lawrence, Kansas:

jbone, the big benefits I see for having a one (wo)man bands are-
Complete creative control within the scope of your instrumental skills. check.
Don't have to schedule with other musicians to book shows. check.
Don't have to split the paycheck at the end of the night. check.
What is the fundamental difference between an instrument and a piece of electronic kit? She's not hitting play on a tape deck, she's recording all those sounds live to build the loop right in front of us, so at least to me, that seems like a live performance, which would be the last important item for me on a checklist, and unlike some loop pedal people, she is making it just sound like all the parts are part of the performance, instead of like she is setting up parts to perform something later on. I'd be interested to hear what criteria you'd use to say it wasn't a one person band? We all use some sort of technological aid, just some are so old fashioned we forget they are technology- whether it's a mic replacing a choir so one voice can fill a room, or a bunch of reeds letting someone produce several notes at once with our breath (without having to resort to Mongolian throat singing.)e

Nate, good points but who is going to go to her shows? Other mimics and electronic copycats. I was looping stuff 25 years ago for fun but my motto became, and still is, Raw, Real, and Right Now. Just sayin' yo. ---------- http://www.reverbnation.com/jawboneandjolene

I agree with jbone. That is not what I would call a one man(woman) band. ---------- Wisdom does not always come with old age. Sometimes old age arrives alone.

Sure it is a one woman band! She just has more modern instruments than you choose to recognize. Nothing pre-recorded. She does it all right in front of your eyes. She plays rhythm, harmony, and lead. One more thing. The dogs don't count as people. One person. ---------- www.facebook.com/catfishfryeband

Here's the other extreme: Molly Gene One Whoaman Band. She certainly meets the jbone test!
She's fun. I shared the stage with her at a little club in France a couple of years ago. Actually, we crossed paths twice--the second time at the Deep Blues Festival in Bayport, MN.

"That sh-t makes me black out"
Damn straight it does!!! This is actually exactly the kind of stuff that I love to play on my cigar box guitar, plugged into an amp I made from an old tube reel-to-reel tape player. I crank the amp, get the slide out, and start stomping and shredding on the third fret... If only I could sing, then I could do a duet with Molly Gene. She seems rad.
PS: the girl in the OP was great, don't get me wrong. She's a good singer and is working the looper really well (she's also got the big expensive BOSS loop station, which makes it easier to do that). But for my money, I GREATLY prefer the sound Molly Gene is making... ----------   YouTube! Soundcloud!

jbone, I'd go to her show in a heartbeat. She's a little more pop that what I usually listen to, but still really great. I went to see Emily Wells live. Wells adds some instruments in too, but basically builds tracks with loop pedals. K.D. Tunstall uses a loop pedal and instruments and gets airplay. Also, if you monetize your page (which requires original music or licensing), well, YouTube may be a better way to make money than touring.
Isaac, I agree, I'd probably pick Molly Gene's show if they were playing the same night, but I'd go to both if they were on back to back nights.
The two barriers that loopers might still have to breech is keeping eye contact with the audience and making people understand that they are doing 'live' music, actually creating the loops in real time. Unfortunately, a lot of pop uses prerecorded parts so if you see someone up on stage without instruments and hear 'instruments' some people start thinking it's karaoke. With todays electronics, technologically, there is no reason you couldn't be controlling all that with buttons on a stick mic (someone just needs to engineer it). Once you have that, you could engage with the crowd at a much higher level.
edit: Hmm, looking at some of her other covers- NIN, Nirvana, Radiohead... I might call in bomb threat to one venue to delay the show so I could make it to both. (Just kidding). I bet Kawehi draws well, and I could totally see her performing at a wide range of venues where young people dance.

KT Tunsell builds a lot of her stuff from loops on stage including Black Horse and Cherry Tree. Using a looper is not something one just picks up and does unless you get very lucky. And sure this is one of the high end loopers that has some extra bells and whistles to make it easier to use... still doesn't happen over night.

She plays her instrument ( voice ) extremely well. She uses pedals to modify and enhance it. Not much difference to many harp players. I thought she was excellent.

Each their own Nate. No harm. My interest is in actual instruments like guitar and harp etc. Amps are great to move the sound too. Molly Gene, now SHE's a one woman band. Call me old school. ---------- http://www.reverbnation.com/jawboneandjolene

jbone, but what makes it an 'actual' instrument? That's what I'm getting at. How do you define 'instrument'. I'm more interested in the end result (as long as you are doing it live, although even then I'll make some allowances... I've got a friend who mixes his own backing tracks and sings live over them. It drives another one of my friends nuts. He says it's just karaoke, but to me, I give the guy allowances, because he mixed it all himself and hiring a full band to play all the instruments would be prohibitively expensive, but he's right on the electronic line for me.
And she does play 'actual' instruments in some of her other songs). I'm much more comfortable with you saying it's not your cup of tea than saying she's not a one person band though. I'm looking for a definition, then, I guess of what you'd say disqualifies her. All in the pursuit of a good friendly argument though.

I have studied and considered. The voice is probably THE original instrument in time and space and humanity. The voice is not the issue to me. It's electronics. I mentioned my motto, Raw, Real, Right now. For me looping and other similar gadgets don't fit. I do a grass roots style my own self. That gal does what she does. There is no interface for me. I may be set in my thinking and you guys may not be. That's not a deal breaker. I say tomahto, you say looper. No harm.

When I posted the intent was nothing more than to share an awesome talent with the forum. I didn't put much thought into the "one woman band" term. That said, if someone heard it on the radio they might say "great band".
I too love the raw sound (Deak is the man). This may be a pop tune, but once she starts singing the melody I hear a lot of soulful singing and nuances that a blues singer would use. After listening several times I can't find a flaw. She is truly amazing. ---------- www.facebook.com/catfishfryeband
