I've been working a lot on my guitar playing lately, and today being the first day of Pitt's Spring Break (yippee! No more students!), I had a chance to break out the looper pedal this morning before work. I mainly was trying to combine some of the guitar stuff I've been working on with a bit of harp over the top. I thought this little ditty was the best of what I came up with... Any comments/suggestions are welcome!

I'm listening for the 3rd time right now. But it could be just I have a crush on the girl with the whipped cream hair. :)
Right around the one minute mark you play a series of single notes, and one of them seems just a little out of time. I like the part around 2:37 where you seem to slip into a different modality briefly. Going in for one more listen, then I'm going to listen to some Ana Tijoux.

Thanks for the repeated listens, Nate! I appreciate it! Thanks for the critquea too, they are very useful and quite helpful too! By the way, the change in modality you heard was what Bob Ross would call a "happy accident"! But when I listened back, I liked it too! :) I'm using a natural minor harp.... @Jinx: Thanks! I will work on that for sure. I started trying to play the guitar riff to a metronome, and I noticed that I definitely start to drift over time! :)
@1847: Thank you so much! My wife calls this one my "western" riff, so it's great to hear you say something similar too! I use linux, and did the audio "mastering" in audacity (added some compression, reverb, a low-pass filter, and some stereo widening), and then used a piece of video editing software called "flowblade" to stitch together some bits of an old 1940's cartoon for the graphic component. I got the original cartoon from here: https://archive.org/details/classic_cartoons. I made sure to pick one that was in the public domain and that was kinda weird! :) ----------   YouTube! Well now that was great! I love the looped guitar keeping the groove and the droning bass it sets up! The harp was fantastic and didn't notice any "scabs". Creative and honest. Nice job. ---------- "Keep it in your mouth" - XHarp

Sounds great, I like unison harp/guitar lines, working on some myself at the moment.
I like the video too;-)
One thing: I like the little scale run up you did at 2.30, but then straight after that you play a little riff that sounds in the wrong scale to guitar (major to minor) that clashes to my ears. It's a nice riff, but sounds more whimsical (emotion wise), than the main theme.
Clashing isn't always a bad thing, but me personally I think it works better as dissonance over major rather than the other way round.
But that's just my ears. Whatever works for you works for you!

Cool stuff, 1847! Glad you are enjoying the new looper... You'll see that it starts to become intuitive the more you use it! Well done! ----------   YouTube! Soundcloud!
