Well, I mentioned the weird cardboard woodshed in another thread, but I thought I'd start a more general thread on things to get a harp player (or to get as a harp player!) The cardboard soundproof mini-room may not be terribly practical, but I'm sure there are lots of practical ideas out there. What would you put on your Christmas list (or recommend for other harpers?)

I've got the usual wishlist items- some more alternate tunings, some blinged out combs, but I've got some oddball ideas out there too. I was just reading that a certain model of pan flute will fit in a Hohner harmonica rack (Some retuning might even make it Richter!)

http://www.handpan.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=4958

I'm not really a rack player, but it might be a fun challenge for people who are. I've been playing with a slide whistle and kazoos too.

Loop pedals? Amps? Foot drums? Mics? Harps? CD's? What do you want Santa to bring you?

How about a Dannecker Blues Optimus Gold harmonica :)

Honestly I would like one of those wireless mic setups from Greg's site BlowsMeAway.com. Maybe a cool customized wood bullet mic from there as well to go along with it.

I also would like to try one of those half valve Seydel harps from PT Gazelle.

I'd love to get some kind of foot drum setup*, but the Farmer ones are $$$$, the plug-into-an-amp-block-of-wood versions seem very one-trick-pony, and I lack the native MacGyver qualities needed to turn, say, an old suitcase into a traveling kick drum.

Instead, will probably get myself a Flat Cat, stick it under tree and write "From: Santa" on it; got an Octave and Delay, and I think that would play nicely.

*I also need some rhythm, and the ability to do more than one thing at a time--but these are not on this year's list.

This is easy. An Ultimate57 from Greg; Session Steels in G, A, Bb, C & D; and one of those sweet Mission amps that Rick has been posting. Oh, a Lone Wolf Harp Delay pedal. There. That should do it.

I'm still working on a complete set of harps. Bb, E, and F will round out my collection. Since I've been exclusively been on the Special 20, maybe I'll get those keys in something different, like a Lee Oscar or a Big River.

Thinking big, an actual shed. Good size, insulated, with electric, plumbing, and detached from the house. A music room.

Jbone, like the one Walter Torre was building!

I actually have a shed, but it's just for storage and it's way up at my mother's house, 40 minutes away. Fortunately, my upstairs neighbor is pretty forgiving of my noise (but the three tenants before her were all nearly deaf, so I can't be as loud as I once was.)

Rognzab, I've got a couple of those, but scheduling is always a problem. Give me an unemployed musician any day! lol.

As for Greg's bling, yeah, I've got money saved up, but everytime I look I see he's got something even nicer that is a little more expensive!

My guitar man just recently became unemployed. Seems like we've had more practice time lately. Of course I hope he can find a new job soon.

I have everything. Maybe a little more discipline and better time management.

It wasn't expected and I'm kinda floored they found one, but my grandparents gave me a Hering 8348 Sonhadora octave harp.
