OK, you want to play along with one of Adams vids on your smartphone say and you're wondering how to prop it up, then look no further than the box you've just taken your harp out of.
Works well on Suzuki Harpmaster boxes (landscape only)
Hohner boxes will need some customising - removal of plastic tray insert:)
patent applied for:-)

It's the Galaxy S3, Hawkeye and I'm well pleased with it so far one week on. I was tempted by the S4 but it's double the price to buy outright.

I have the original Galaxy S Captivate. It's on its last legs. Gonna try for the Galaxy Note II. With everything I use my phone for on the day-to-day, the big screen seems like the one for me. I dunno if that behoemeth will fit in any harp case except one for a chrome. LOL ----------

if you google around a bit, at least you could find desktop charging/docking stations for Galaxy Nexus phones, with audio out. But I do like your version :)

Excellent, thanks for the tip. My phone (HTC One X, about the same size as yours) often lays on my desk along side some harp cases, but I never thought of doing that. Perfect for watching baseball games while doing something else.

Yup good idea. I use one and am always having problems watching. I mainly use my Galaxy phone to store backing tracks and I did this short video on how I make use of it when on the move:-

The next step is to hack it so it works as a charging station too!

Oh thanks a bunch Tooka, now I've got to go and buy another gadget! ;) Can you mic up the harp also using one of these (or similar) portable speakers. ie. bluetooth operation of the smartphone backing track and mic into mini jack input?
Anyone got any suggestions for must have android apps or associated gear? Please feel free to weigh in. ----------

Tooka, that seems similar to my set up ie speaker wise. My speaker is an X-Mini boom box which connects direct to my Samsung phone.
Grey Owl another app I have is the Harmonica Tuner. But I have little or no use for it. It is free from Google play so have a look & ditch if it doesn't suit. The backing track player is excellent as it is easy to use in cueing up tracks plus it stops at the end of each track. With MP3 players it is difficult to cue and the bloody things keep playing or shuffle and have a mind of their own. The only thing I'm after is an easy to use volume controller for the tracks that I feed into the MP3 input on my Mobile Cube Amp. The amp has 2 inputs for instrument & mic which have settings incl. volume but the backing track doesn't. During a performance juggling a harp mic & a vocal mic + fiddling with the backing volume on the phone is disastrous. A simple(big) knob to twirl on the line out is what I need. ---------- HARPOLDIE’S YOUTUBE

@GreyOwl. I'm not sure. The speaker is fine for intimate occasions where amplification of the harp would probably not be needed. If you do get the speaker, ensure you get the right one. One model has a USB connector for laptops etc, the other has a 1/8 jack for MP3 players and phones etc. Small but heaps of bassy volume for it's size.
Regarding @Aussiesuckers juggling problem. I normally re-master my mp3's to ensure the volume is consistent with each other so I don't need to adjust the volume of individual tracks. I create a playlist of the ones I want to play and just let the list play. No juggling required.
