Is there a way that the coding on the website can be adjusted to not completely remove out replies to posts if we mistype the captcha code at the end? I have given up retyping replies anymore when it happens because it has killed so many long detailed replies.

Yeah I always copy my reply to the clipboard so I can just paste it back in that event.

It may depend on your browser, but usually, hitting the back page button takes you back and gives you a new captcha, at least in Chrome.

I know the page that says,

"There are some changes that need to be made.
The spam prevention code you entered was not right."

doesn't show your original message though. We've told the hosts about it but it doesn't seem high on their priority list. Like Cyclodan said, you can always right click copy before you try the captcha, but see if the back page works for you. If it doesn't, let me know what browser you are using and I'll investigate it more.

If writing anything that should be printed on the front page of the new york times - write on a word processor first :)

@Nate: When I don't get the captcha right - not only does the back button NOT preserve what I typed, but the new code on the page I went back to NEVER works. Have to get a fresh entry screen, re-enter (or paste, usually my solution) the copy, and enter THAT new captcha. Once again, CAPTCHA SUCKS, badly, for the reasons I've enumerated in the past many times. It is the worst captcha implementation of any site using it I have seen. LOTS of other sites use it - but they use less ambiguous images, simpler codes, and a "regenerate code" button if you can't understand the original code presented. That button, of course, doesn't destroy your entry. As a college graduate with a degree in computer science, I can only say to the people who wrote this forum software - "have you no pride? FIX IT!!!"

I use the Google Chrome browser and the back button restores the message every time. Still, it is a pain and seems to be getting worse.

Okay, lets collect the info we need for an error report. I use Chrome and the back button thing works but the

"There are some changes that need to be made.
The spam prevention code you entered was not right."

page doesn't preserve the message. What are other people using, and what results are they getting?

I'm using Safari w/ Mac OS-X 10.8.4.

If I get the "The spam prevention code you entered..." message, clicking the back button will produce a new screen without my previous text entry, and a new captcha code that NEVER works.

I use Mozilla. When I get the captcha "wrong," it just gives me another chance to enter it correctly. I never lose a post....and I'm sure you're all grateful for that.

I do the same as MP - no stress now.

As a point of interest you don't even have to bother to type the upper case and lower case characters in the captcha as you can just type all lower case. This will work just fine so long as you post your message before the dreaded 'timeout' which erases all your post.

Hmm, I wonder if maybe it is a cookies issue? Anyone with a little better computer knowledge have any ideas? (I'll submit an error report tomorrow. Too late to figure it all out tonight. Spectacular fireworks.)

I just did a post where I didn't get the captcha right (aargh) - but when I hit back, I DID have my original post - along with a new catcha code that of course didn't work.

But I'm sure I've "backed" at times when the OP was gone as well. That makes it even stranger.

Dear Nate,...MBH refuses to load from my computer/web address...

This is the 2nd time with this problem. 1st time a week or two ago and could not figure it out, so verizon sent me a new router.

That worked till yesterday after a new topic I started was swallowed up and obliviated...

Tried 3 browsers and all of them time out and won't load MBH...

I'm using a free proxy to be able to correspond presently Anyone have a suggestion? Thanks a bunch :)

Okay, I'm submitting the report right now. For ease of troubleshooting, everyone give as many details as possible, and let us know if it's okay for support to contact you directly if they need help figuring it out.

Okay, they are looking into it. Frank, as for not being able to access, they asked for this information:

Browser and its version
IP Address
ISP Provider
Any Internet Security/Firewall configuration you have set up

Thanks brother Nate :) The last topic I tried to enter was for "Give Away of The Day" giving away [A band in the box type software]...I only put the link in the thread. It was swallowed up and never appeared as a topic and then my computer would not hook-up with MBH...This is a theory of what may of happened?

Sorry to bother you about this again, but whatever support tried to do must notta worked Nate, unless they're still trying to figure it out?... MBH is the only site that is faulty - Support is welcome to contact me directly :)franze52@msn.com

This is the error message.
