Hey guys.
So I recently "finished" my egg timer mic, but there was an issue with it. The sieve I used for the grill was too soft and warped when pushing against it. I found an alternative. There is an easy and extremely cheap way to make a grill. The link for the North American site is below. I paid R5 ($0.50) each. So I bought 10. For future projects. Gardena Spray Gun It's a stainless steel disc. I fitted the below disc to my egg timer mic. Sounds so good!

Very nice. I was looking for a grill piece for my own mic project right now. I'll look into this. Thanks Jared! ----------

Jared, I forgot to ask you...what's the diameter of the grill piece? Did it need any trimming? ----------

Lol, just the other day I posted a thread with pictures of shower heads that might make interesting mic casings. I guess I should have gone to the outdoor department instead. :)

Home Depot has some strainers and sieves in their plumbing section - used for sink strainers and such. That's what I always used. But that one looks good. ---------- If it ain't got harp - it ain't really blues!!!!

@Hawkeye, No worries! It's about 50mm in diameter (2 inches). It has a straight lip around the edge, which I bent to follow the contour of the grill.
