Okay, I just posted this on Facebook because it seems more than half of the CD's I get at shows screw this up, even top notch bands. I think it's an important part of looking professional.
Post meta data on your CD's. Most programs editing programs I've seen actually prompt you to do it when you export the files. You can do it in windows, or if you want more control, you can do it in Windows Media Player.
Meta Data? What's that?
It's the name of your band, the name of the album, and the name of each track. It's what software uses to sort your library. Those 3 are the bare minimum, but you can add all sorts of useful info, like song key, composer, who wrote the lyrics, when it was recorded, all sorts of stuff. You add them once, before you burn the CD, and then all those CD's you give out or sell have that information. When someone shares your song with someone, that someone will know who they are listening too, and if they like it, maybe come out to a show. Radio stations that hear a song will be able to look you up and invite you for interviews! People will think you know what you are doing, and fans won't have to manually enter the data when they put your CD on their iPhone or computer.
Okay, rant over. Thanks for indulging me. nate

Very good point, Nate. I too have encountered this many times, especially with "free download" mp3 versions of songs from band websites. Any piece of audio playing or creation software lets you add this info. It's really easy to do it, for example, in Audacity. When you "export > mp3", a window pops up. It has fields for band name, track name, track number, album title, genre, year, comments, etc. If you fill them in, then all future copies of the resultant mp3 file will have that info embedded in them. And so when that song pops up on an ipod or whatever, that info will show up so that the listener then knows who the hell they are listening to (and hopefully diggin!)!
