Dreamt last night that I met three young guys, all horn players. They took their mouthpieces and were simultaneously bubbling into a big barrel of water. One guy blew a lot of froth but was finished quickly. Another was blowing a steady stream of sustained bubbles. I asked if the latter was the winner becasue he had better breath control and one of the other guys said "correct." I think my dream me is telling the waking me something.

lol! If I have that dream tonight because you planted the idea in my head I sure hope the three horn players are three young ladies.

LOL. It took about 2 minutes for me to understand this! It just sounded like gibberish until I realized I was reading it "I think my dream is telling me...".

@Nate. May you dream of Jane Rutter then! I don't knwo if a flute qualifies as a horn though... but then, dreams don't have to make sense...

Sorry ReedSqueal. The third dude just disappeared. Coudln't be bothered I guess. Or maybe I was just marvelling at my mini-epiphany and forgot about him. Darn dreams just don't make sense anyway...

He probably didn't know his own limits and passed out trying to win the contest. Did you have a good view of under the table? He might have been lying on the floor!

My guess is you have sleap apnea and the dream is urging you to visit a sleep study program?

I like the third man theory, Nate. So that's why he disappeared! Interesting guess, Frank. My wife (who has chronic insomnia) would not hesitate to let me know if I had sleep apnea and make me get t checked out. Any bad snoring I have done in the past was usually due to too much drink. I have been focusing on changing my breathing technique since blowing out a brand-new harp and reading some of BBQ Bob's advice and looking at diaphragmatic breathing videos. I think the simple message to me was to stop sucking and blowing so damn hard on the harps!

I think your right BW...If your breathing properly you should never be out of breathe at the end of a solo or instrumental, and you should be able to comp endlessly with relative ease...
