James Day and the Fish Fry, one of the acts at this year's Bucks Country (PA.) Rhythm and Blues picnic on 7/21.

The amp isn't miked, I don't think, and should be.

Quick test: What key harp is he playing, and what position?

In my opinion, the sound is far too amplified/overdriven to properly hear anything. There are much better recordings of James Day. This vid doesn't do him justice.

I'm going to throw in with tm714, but my second choice is standing. I'm pretty sure that's called a standing position. I prefer sitting position while practicing, but standing position is really the only way to play a show, unless you have a chair or something.

:)

It strikes me more as a good example of how harsh chorded equal temperament can sound if you overdo it for the context. It's a nice texture if used judiciously--nothing intrinsically bad about it.

Shortstop?:) it sounds like a mistake-even though it sorta works- right off the bat on the turnaround.
