Boris is truly a great player. I appreciate that his playing spans many styles. It’s great to see him go from a one man band set up in the yard to play for friend to seeing him in a tuxedo playing in front of a classical orchestra.
Thanks for posting this Jim, and thanks Boris for all you share on this forum.
Boris Plotnikov is possibly the most versital player i've ever heard. he is comfortable jamming w/ howard levy. he does wonderful jazz standards; everything from autumn leaves to herbie handcocks cantalope,- and plays beautiful classical music. he has a wonderful tone. often times i am put off by jazz diatonic because of the tone and would rather hear a saxophone; not so w/ boris.
his classical playing above is nonpareil. ----------

Its wonderful to see the harmonica on the classical stage, keeping company with seven or eight cellos, and a conductor! Great feel, great playing, and very well received by the audience. I loved it.
thanks Todd P. i knew you would agree. we hold these truths to be self evident. by the way, i studied charlie mcoy extensively and was in a country band where we did orange blossom special and the fastest harp in the south. i saw a video of you playing and explaining that great CM lick that is pretty much his signature. great job my man! you find that lick and variations of it on the tunes i just mentioned. you're no slouch either. ---------- "and the thing that makes it even better is that he seems like such a nice and humble guy. I really think a lot of him."
his video of cantalope bears this out. he's a joy to watch because he is obviously enjoying himself. MP doctor of semiotics and reed replacement.
