I think if we are honest with ourselves, we ALL want to be able to do this:

First I thought, oh, a guy with whips. Then I thought a guy with a harmonica and whips playing cool whip/Westernish appropriate music. Then I was like, wow, he's playing the whips!

If that isn't the most badass way to perform harmonica, I'm certainly not going to tell him to his face!

Ok....I can't see the video because my office blocks YouTube and other streaming videos, and my phone won't display it either for some reason. Just from the discussion here though...by chance is this a guy by the name of Chris Camp?

HawkeyeKane, his name is Adam Winrich. He's playing harmonica and using two whips to add percussion. He does a breakdown of Oh Susanna, but he's playing it on a harmonica minor Lee Oksar in C so it sounds very exotic. The rhythm is much more complex than I would have expected from whips! The harmonica suffers a little bit in the later part of the song because he doesn't have a rack, so once he starts the whips up he's holding it just in his mouth which limits him to a smaller part of the harmonica, but it's still really a fun performance to watch.

Thanks Nate. I just finally got my phone to display it a few minutes ago and I was about to edit my last post. Reason I was asking is because one of my friends here in Springfield, Chris Camp, is both a damn good harp player, AND an expert whip maker/cracker himself. He tours the country with his show, although his harp doesn't get used very much in it. I need to try and coax him into adding it in some more.

joek-softcore? Dude, commit. Go big or go home. Life's too short to be teased.

But...he really did that kinda stuff too? He's multi-talented.

And..since this is a harmonica forum, I gotta ask-was he sucking or blowing?

If he ever does decide to busk, you'd better make damn sure that you have some spare change before walking by his tip cup! :)
