Hey guys, Happy Holidays, and God Bless! I took my friend, and amp builder, Ell Snake skin is cool, tweed is hip, and now Silver Jubilee. I'm going Wizard Of Oz 'Tin Man', now... The piping and grill cloth are nice touches. I had the grill cloth sitting around, taken from a 1966 Kalamazoo Bass 30.
The tag is actually covering up a tear in the cloth. It had no say in where to put it... Back panels and hardware next.
I'm bartering for all of this work. A Bassman410, a Bogen CHA33, and a Masco MA17. Which I had doubles of...and couldn't see keeping em around for any good reason. Spring cleaning....let's say. My living room is worthy for the cable show Extreme Hoarders.(cruelty to gear is my only offense). I'm seeking help. And have turned a new gear page. With the help of gear head friends, I think I can beat this gear OCD thing...or more mildy put, G.A.S.? I also have two other combo's, previously shown on MBH. I'm still loyal to the Rola Alnico 2X12's. They are truly amazing. I can't afford the new or reconed speakers. They are often too crisp and mid-rangey. I have no patience. Crisp is good in certain combinations. I can safely say, harp players cream when they hear a decent combination of all the ranges. Bottom end with mid range crunch being the most important. Not everybody would agree. You can say I'm a kalamazoo fan.

It looks good and sound good. I saw your microphone works and they look fine too. I have a Astatic 200 i have had thoughts to custumize. Does it works good with the metal piece you glued in the hole after you cout away the handle? It seems to me it should break after a while? BTW.. I have to stand up and eat. the kitchen table is full of amp parts soldering gear and all kind of related stuff. My wife say i have to pick out the table before christmas when we gonna have some guests. I can't see why.

Nice Combo,I,d love to hear it. Will you close the speaker cabinet completely, partially?Maybe you could answer a another question for me as you mentioned the Kali Bass 30 grill cloth.Have you spent any time playing harp through one of these .I know that they,re a pretty low volume amp but have been wondering if anything can be done to one of these to make them better for harp.I bought one a couple of yrs back for $100.(gear OCD)and it sits there looking at me.I asked this ques. a while back and did,nt get any responses so I figured I,d ask again. Thanks, and Happy Holidays.

It looks cool. I'd love to hear it too.
Once concern: it looks like it still has the original multi-tap power filter cap. If that thing is still working at full capacity, I'd be very surprised. Based on my experience the odds of that are about one in a hundred. You might try new caps there. ---------- /Greg

The back panels are gonna be partial, not closed cab panels. The cap(red)is new, I believe we split it up, too. It's a 40 and the other two electrolytics, are 10's or 20's...I forgot. We are going to change it back to the original.the old multi cap was waaay off... As for the Bass 30...yeah, I'm having trouble finding the right speaker and mic combinations. The 7591's are some kind of 6L6 equivalant...back then. But it just doesn't get me hard, for some reason. It certainly LOOKS like it will deliver! We'll see, someday. Since this photo, a custom cab was made to fit the original back panel. The flip out console was too cool to change it out for another design. ---------- Why is it that we all just can't get along?<

Very nice Mojo! Question though. The Kalamazoo tag in the cab's grill cloth, where'd you take that from? I'm working on a project that I need the Kal logo for and I'm not having an easy time of it. ----------

Hawkeye, this tag was on the Zoo Bass 30 already. Only it was in the left hand corner. Since it was coming off already. I decided to hide a big rip in the cloth using the tag. It looks a little funny right in the middle...but it works fine, eh? I did a little touch ups on it too. Then sprayed it with clear coat to hide the touch ups. Not all black paints are the same exact black. Yeah, it's a clean little unit. I hate to give up on it...for harp. The other amps are more reliable for achieving good tone for harp. I try to stick to what works. I'll post a clip of it soon....off to work. ciao! ---------- Why is it that we all just can't get along?<

did ellis bourbonnais talk you into the marshall silver jubilee edition silver tolex? :)
actually, i've had my coffee, and yours too, and i'm looking at it right now. in the morning light it looks more pewter than silver like the pics. mebee a black handle? brass corners? i'll bet the biscuit with the brush crystal sounds bomb with this puppy. we should try it out. i'd try it now, but your cat and neighbors would freak. beautiful work! ----------
