Hi guys, just thought i would tell you about an exciting developement. I just had a phone call from a local Harp player who is putting together a band for a one off gig outside of his regular band, he is a really great player and he says he has two top notch guitar players and he just asked me to front the band!. He said he had seen me singing my songs at a couple of jam nights and was impressed so he tracked me down, he wants me to do a few standards and a few of my songs plus he wants to do a two harp dual on Hipshake for the finale! Yeeha someone hold me back cos i'm raring to go!

Good on ya Geordie! I like your can-do attitude. Knock 'em, dead! Keep doing what you're doing!
Edit: And the playing and singing of course! You got it going on!

Cool!
We played an open mic a couple weeks back. After our set a guy came over, patted me on the back, and set we sounded great. I could smell the beer on his breath and he looked a little unsteady on his feet, so I just said thank you and kind of blew it off (I'm always kind of awkward meeting new people anyway.) Anyway, as he was walking away I noticed it was more of a limp than a stagger. Then he got called up on stage and played a great set himself. I felt like a jackass. Oh well, he didn't seem to take offense.
It's always nice to get compliments from people, and when it's another musician it's even better. Getting asked to do a gig though, that's the next level. Congrats!

You are at that level based on your fine performance in your BYBO entry. Go in confidence.

keep doing what you do geordie! and be as cool as possible. by that i mean, i don't study the audience since it tends to distract me. i stay attentive to the band enough to know where we are and what my role at the moment is. other than that, it's all just come what may.
i just got an invite to play with a friend at a blues society's christmas party in a month. always a good time playing with him and he just won the solo/duo so he's headed for IBC in february. my wife/partner and i may be going to memphis our own selves depending on how our cd does there! at any rate it's always cool to be invited to play. don't forget, somewhere up the road, you can return the favor to a promising young player. ---------- http://www.reverbnation.com/jawboneandjolene
