Hi all! This is slightly OT for this forum, but I though I'd share because I know several of you are with me on this whole beatbox/looping trip. Well, this summer, I've been getting waaay into my cigarbox guitar, and I've actually sorta learned to play the damn thing. So the other day, I was trying to do some looping that combined beatbox, cigarbox guitar, and harp. Well, that failed miserably (so far), but I realized that I can actually beatbox while playing the cbg! A quick search of YouTube and Google told be that no one else has been doing this (or at least no one else has been posting about it or recording videos of it), so I decided to be the first person on the internet doing this, which is pretty cool! Without further ado, I give you: Beatbox + Cigarbox

Let me know what you think!

Cool! Now, if you just lay that down on a loop and lay in some harp. . .

Actually I have been doing something like this for a while now, with my whiskey tin guitar--but you are the man who had the balls to put it up on YT! Hats Off!

I'm not a huge fan of beat boxing in general. There are a few exceptions. But I enjoyed this. Did you make your Cigar Box Guitar or did you buy it?

Thanks Oldwailer! Yeah, I was trying some more complicated looping when I figured out hoe to do this. I suppose you are right, however, that I could just loop what I have here and I'd have something going on!

7 o 3: Yup, I made her myself! Right down to the pick up! I first built it about 3 years ago, but I've altered it several times since then, and the final modifications that you see here was finished about 3 months ago when I started to play again in earnest. I'm glad you liked this!

Thanks guys!

@Gwood: "i wouldnt mind seeing you lay down a beat on your loop ped and work the CBG with a harp in a rack.. can you play through a rack? "
That's what I was originally trying to do, but man! is it hard to play good rack harp and guitar at the same time! Now I know why Bob Dylan only played those wheezy chords! I have a totally new respect for guys like Jimi Lee and Walter Tore now. It's really hard to play single note runs while playing anything other than basic chord strumming on the guitar, and conversely as hard to play anything more complicated on the guitar while playing more than just chord rhythms on the harp! I'm going to keep working at it, but there's a steep learning curve ahead!

And yeah, I got that e-mail from you, but I knew it was a scam because it happened to my dad too. I hope no one actually sent that prick any money! Hope the jam session with your CBG friend went well!

Sounds good! I've got to find a second instrument so I can lay out on some of our songs.
