I know that Brad Harrison has said he's gonna sell the rights to the B-Radical to an undisclosed Japanese company to finish up production of all those that have been on backorder. When this sale is gonna take place, don't know.

Carole2020, hopefully you paid for it with a credit card. Call your Credit Card company and dispute the charges.

Kingo, I didn't say these were the facts, I just said I knew Harrison has said this in a press release.

Not a Japanese company... It is the cumulative effect of small errors that create these huge hearsay misunderstandings and flameouts...

"However, another innovative American company with a reputation for manufacturing excellence has purchased the B-Radical harmonica and will build the B-radical as well as other HH-concept models. They are committed to - and with 49 years of manufacturing experience are capable of - carrying forward the revolution we started."

Also I was trying to be slightly humerous...

Touche. I just realized I crossed over the line from the most recent Trib article:

"The company sent an email Thursday to customers explaining that another company, as yet unnamed, had bought the rights to produce the B-Radical harmonica, an innovative instrument created by the company's founder, Brad Harrison."

with this one from another Trib article written when he first opened for business:

"A Japanese company offered to buy his design for about $300,000, he says. But Harrison balked at the deal and ultimately decided to start his own factory."

My bad.

Carole2020, sorry about your problem. There are a couple options. If you used a credit card you can dispute the charges. Harrison has been bought. From the press releases we've seen the new company, who's name still hasn't been released, says they'll complete the back orders. Harrison got in over their heads. They were better at innovating than producing on a schedule at cost. I wish I knew more. If you dispute the charges and get your money back there are lots of great customizers who can take a stock harp and turn it into a great instrument, if you are still interested. The new company taking over Harrison is supposed to be more experienced at getting products to market, but without knowing who they are I have no idea if they will cut corners or keep the quality the same. Hopefully they will, and hopefully they will get things on schedule. There are members on the forum who have been waiting years for Harrison harps. Enough show up to keep people's hopes alive. Sorry. If you do get the money back and still want to do something with a harmonica there is a list of customizers you can reach by clicking on the 'Thread Organizer' link in my signature. I've only dealt with a couple of them myself, and don't have any financial interest in any of them.

"I heard Harrison was moving all production to a fixed-floating facility anchored in Macau and staffed by twelve-year olds?"

Yes, but the twelve-year olds have unionized, and so the base level Harrison Harp MSRP is $2,999.99.

On the bright side, the union executives have all been able to acquire waterfront residences and new Mercedes.

As most of you know, who had orders with Harrison Harmonica, they closed their doors. I contacted Visa and they credited my account for the 2 I ordered June 2010 and never received. If you think you are still going to get yours,if you ordered one, I think you are a dreamer. Why would Harrison NOT provide the name of the company taking over?Contact your credit card company for a refund.

good point there garry. and some of us just have no option but hope, however unreal that may be. we paid with a DEBIT card and the time limit with our bank was expired long ago. so i am just trying to ignore the hard won dollars that i may never see again or any value for them. except perhaps a lesson in caution.
i had considered waiting, and it looked like i would need to since i just didn't have the scratch. but my wife hit a windfall and told me to go ahead. after a year had passed- in june of this year- she was leery and wanted me to ask for our $$ back, but i wanted the damn harp. and i still do. my expectations are lower than they were. but i really just want the damn thing if only to use for a paperweight. after all, who knows if the mystery company has any idea what a harmonica is or how to make one that's several cuts above the average stock harp?
