I am excited to announce that am nearly ready to begin offering aluminum combs for the following models:
Golden Melody Special 20 Marine Band Deluxe MS-Series
The video below shows how the CNC milling machine gives birth to a beautiful MS-Series comb out of a block of aircraft grade aluminum. In the background, you can hear me chatting with the CNC designer as he describes each step of the process. Personally, I find it fascinating.
They will be available in natural silver and candy apple red.
Next week the combs will be anodized and the following week ready for delivery.

that's a cool video. have you seen 'how it's made' on Quest? A bit like going 'through the round window' That's probably a reference only old brits will get
Cristal: I have one Manji and I have not looked at the comb to see if it is the same size as the HarpMaster. But I would not be surprised if the HarpMaster comb fit the Manji. I do know that the HarpMaster reed plates fit the MR350 combs perfectly. My pattern has been (for the most part) to make replacement combs for the popular harps with injection molded plastic combs. I started with Golden Melody, then Special 20s. Marine Band and MBD combs were a result of popular demand as was the MS-Series. The Lee Oskars and Harpmasters fir my pattern perfectly. Well made, reasonably priced harps that are a good foundation for someone who wants to spice things up a bit with a wood, acrylic or metal comb.
Perhaps someone out there in harp land can shed some light on whether or not the Manji comb is the same as a MR350. I would check it out for myself, but I am out of town (vacation) and don't have my Manji with me.
@florida-trader - Recently, I purchased one of your acrylic comb for the MS series harps. I did some minor work on some spare reed plates and added one of your combs. The result is a fine playing, air tight harmonica. Thanks!
Florida-trader ,if you go HERE , you will see that the manji plates fit the harpmaster comb . Just go to the bottom of the thread to see the relevant photos. So if you make a Harpmaster comb it will fit the Harpmaster and Bluesmaster plates, also Delta Frost from Bushman , and Manji if you modify the holes for mounting the covers.
The MR-350 Promaster has an aluminum comb, while the Manji uses a composite comb that is a hybrid of wood and plastic.
The Manji jas a longer reed profile than the MR-350, so you wouldn't be able to swap out combs within the same key on these models.
Promaster cover plates will fit on the Manji comb, though. ---------- -Daron Stinton SUZUKI MUSIC USA Got a question about a Suzuki Harp? Call (800) 854-1594, or e-mail harmonicas@suzukicorp.com
Slots are basically the same length on Manji and Promaster combs. In fact the Promaster slot is slightly deeper on the ones I have here. I assume they did that to make room for valves.
Hi everyone, first time posting, though I am always trolling and reading. :) I had to chime in on this topic though.
Just received my red aluminum comb for my Blues MS harp from Tom/Florida-trader . Awesome is all I can say. I have only had it one day, but I am very pleased with it. ( I drive alot with my job, and have been playing it all day while driving around. Ha Ha. )
The quality, weight, and sound of the Comb is excellent. Not to mention it looks cool. I am going to be ordering one for my MB and my Pro harp soon. ( I think the red comb will look awesome with the black cover plates.) Do yourself a favor and pick some of these up. I will try and post pics up later.
