Last night my good friend and guitarist, Steve Webb here in Bristol uk was burgled in his flat while he was sleeping with the window open!

The scum took his '64 Fender Strat with an Alder wood body and a fairly new Epiphone guitar also. No money, cause he ain't got a lot.

He lives in a very bad area with many druggies but still it shocks at the state of the world and the callousness.

I daren't write what I think of burglars. Scum is way too good for them.

I only hope they were ID marked in some way and that Steve gets them back.

Three things in life a man should never do.

1. Mow another mans lawn

2. Sleep with another mans lady

3. Steal a mans gear or tools

I hope your friend is ok and somehow gets it back

why #1??
i aint got a problem if somebody wants to mow my lawn.
or shovel my drive. i usually shovel 3-4 neighbors' drives when i get done with the snow work. i dont think they have a clue who does it.

That sucks. I can't believe people got to be like that.

Things in life a man should never do addendum:

+ #4. Touch another mans car/motorcycle/truck/auto

Best thing for him to do is ring every music shop in town. If it's druggies, they'll try and offload it quick, although if peeps know it was a 64 strat, it might have been nicked to order.

I hope the guy is insured and thank goodness he didn't disturb them. That's when things get bad.

That sucks big time, the thought of coming home or worse waking up to my equipment missing is horrifying.

Absolute scumbags:o(

I think i would be patrolling the rough areas with a hammer in my pocket asking if anyone has a guitar they want to sell.

Theres no one more sly than a baghead with a Monkey on his back.

I agree real scumbags.

I travel a lot and always have my gear with me. I am always fearful, even though its all insured, of its loss. Many items are not easily replaceable, have been tweaked, have been collected over years and are like a part of me. There would be some sense of grieving were it taken away. I feel for your friends loss.

Update on this, Steve had a call from Cash Convertors in Bristol. The Fender Strat has been bought in, the police are dealing with it, and he can pick it up, at no cost tomorrow.

The seller is on cctv and is named and will be dealt with I am assured. Good news!!

Good news indeed! Glad to hear he got his baby back. Unlike the Epiphone, one doesn't just rush out and buy another '64 strat when some lowlifes make off with it. I like a happy ending.

That is a great story, unless it ruins the end to the great blues song he was writing.

..great story. next time put a 'RIp Me Off' sign on the front door, and leave it ajar.
..many not as fortunate as he.
Teach him a lesson, eh?
And the lesson IS?
..never leave your 64 strat out. Where a burglar can easily break in, and make off with it. Dummy..
Indeed, he is ...SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
LUCKY!

Yeah MoJO you have a point.
My Gibson GA-20 amp is right beside my bed. I am not kidding! When ever I go anywhere with it has a cover on that has no emblems saying what it is. When it is not in use it next to my bed with the cover on. My mics are on the whoa wait a second. I'm not telling you where my mics are.
Actually I sold the amp last week!
