----------I bought three sanded and sealed hardwood GM combs from Kevin Baker (Chromatic Blues) and got them installed the other night. The ones I ordered were cherry, mahogany and bamboo. They are beautiful looking combs.

I really wasn't expecting much from them other than just looking real nice and lasting forever. Kevin sent me a note recommending that I apply some chapstick to the combs before assembly to tighten up the seals.

I was skeptical but went ahead and rubbed them all down with Burt's Beeswax Lipbalm, wiped off the excess real good and put 'em together. Wow! Tight! These kids are loud!

Kevin's a great guy to deal with. He rehabbed some old harps of mine and brought them back from the dead. Actually I haven't been playing long enough to have any old harps, but these were the ones I learned to bend on and they had really been through the ringer. Now they are probably two of the most responsive harps I have.

I've got some pics of the combs but I can't get them from Photobucket to here. Arrrgh!

Just copy and paste the link below the photobucket tile of your pics that says HTML code next to it.

Good to hear that. GM has what must be the crappiest stock comb of any harp.

Thanks Todd for the posting tip-but why the heck are the pics so huge?

You can resize them in Photobucket. I personally don't think those are too big. Occasionally folks will post some that are so big you have to scroll right to see them.

I'm viewing on an old computer that doesn't have a wide screen and the pictures display fine. They are a good size for viewing. :)

Are you making the combs, chromaticblues, or do you have a supplier? I've been working a lot with harpcombs.com for the non-Sjoeberg design combs and they are excellent.
