I have a few quid spare to spend on a mic for my birthday and am thinking of buying one of these. It seems quite good value for money and I know Brandon Bailey used to use one. Has anyone had any experience of one and what did you think?
Edit...just did a forum search and found a thread from a couple of weeks ago about it and it looks like most people who have bought it are quite happy with it.

I gig with one regularly now. I have a 520 with a CM element and a JT30 with MC151 and several other mics so I do know what those mics can sound like. The D112C is perfectly adequate. If you A/B with the 520 there's a difference, but nothing that a bit of EQ can't improve. I'm sure the tone snobs will think otherwise, but I think it's a good first mic.

Cheers VLU...have you had any issues with the lead? I have a 520dx which I'm loathe to use any more as it has let me down twice now when the lead has come loose. ---------- Oisin

None at all, it's a good long lead, but I tend to be quite careful not to tread on it.

For the money they're not bad at all. I had one, but sold it on to a friend who wanted to get amplified and didn't have a lot of cash to spare. I think they're at least as good as the 520DX for a lot less money. I retrofitted a screw-on connector onto mine.

I have one of those, I think they are pretty good. Actually it's used on some of the older youtube videos you can find from my signature (march 2010). Those videos are shot with regular handheld camera so the audio sin't so great but perhaps you can hear something from the sound. The amp is Marble Max mic'ed to PA and there's just little dealay added.

Well it was my birthday yesterday and I got my hands on the mic. I'm pretty impressed with it for £40. I think it sounds better than my GB520dx and it easier to hold, feels really solid and has a nice gritty tone through both fender champion 600 and pignose 7-100. Very good value for money. ---------- Oisin
