I am a harp case junkie and saw they had a black leather case that holds 12 harps (www.buckeyeleather.com).
I could live with 7, but 12 is cool. In fact, the Cumberland (?) case Chris Michalek had was super sweet. I have too many cases to begin with, but nothing leather like that, and I know there was a thread about cases like this a while back.
Anyone try these guys out?
Hohner showed a case at NAMM similar in style, but not the high quality leather. I have one...http://www.elderly.com/accessories/items/7PHC.htm. I use the Hohner one with my "blues" band that only requires five harps.
I use the Hohner briefcase for my rock gigs, although I only really need 7 keys.

I have some of the Buckeye products and they are excellent. I have a number of their single harp holsters plus a 4 harp wallet. They are beautifully made and are a quality leather product. The holsters are great to protect the harps from getting lint etc whilst in a pocket & the 4 harp wallet is really classy looking. I chose all in the brown colour.
I would consider buying more but am held back from ordering as I understand they are one and the same company as Harp Depot which have come under fire for lousy service! Although 3 years ago my experiences and dealings with them were good. Also my newer harps ie Crossovers, Manjis & Seydel 1847 have no back supports to the covers & would risk being squashed in holsters or a harp wallet. But, I have had Bluesmasters & Promasters in them for a few years and they are fine.
Highly recommend but with the above precautions.

I just had a look on the net at the 12 slot Buckeye wallet and it certainly looks classy. My concern would be that it would be quite large. My 4 harp wallet is 7 1/2 inches X 5 inches & ca 1 inch thick. A 12 Harp Wallet would be 50% longer and a lot thicker plus they fold in on each other adding to a higher risk of crushing the harp covers. Just my thoughts. But the Buckeye leather is good.

I like the shape and design of the Hohner and loaded it up this weekend. 7 harps is plenty for a case like these. The Hohner doesn't have the leather quality, but the cover off protrction and is closes with magnets. That being said, I had to use it upside down so the harp keys are on the end sticking out!
One day I might do the 7 in black from Buckeye. Four isnt enough. ---------- Mike Quicksilver Custom Harmonicas Updated 2/1/11

I don't know the one you're speaking of but here's another thumbs-up for Jeff Spoor of Cumberland Cases - great guy. He used to be a pro saddle maker, which is how he has the skills. His quality is top notch. ---------- /Greg

i've kept my gig harps in 2 six slot leather cases a shoe repair shop made for me 28? years ago.
love leather, and it helps polish my harps a little and lets them breathe a bit.
i've thought about getting a 14 slot from cumberland but never got around to it.
i saw one of those 7 pouch hohner cases the other day. i don't think they look bad. they look cheap in the elderly instruments ad. much nicer up close. the guy with the hohner case is going to get me two of them (gets a deal from hohner) ----------

Jeff (Cumberland harp cases) is not doing business at this time... personal issues mainly, I think he recovered from the shop lightening strike.
I hope he starts back up... His Cordura belt cases are great (I have one that holds six diatonics, and another that holds seven). I also own a few of his custom mics which are also awesome.

The Hohner one feels like a wallet, imo. I like it the more I use it. The only possible issue is the stitching and how that holds. It is sturdy, but not as sturdy as the others mentioned. I mean it could never be an issue, but id imagine it to be the case.
Classy looking, but the logog should be in the opposite spot. ---------- Mike Quicksilver Custom Harmonicas Updated 2/1/11

@MP Thanks!! for the tip on Rockin Ron's as a supplier. I have a case from Cumberland that holds 7 GM's but these Hohner cases look like a great deal for the price and I need something for the MB's I am now playing.

i have a seydel case. it aint bad. it can hold a stick mic plus 20 harps; probably a bit more paraphernalia. i also own a cumberland 7 harp case.
it is easier to pull harps out of the cumberland. from what i have seen of his larger cases, i think it would be easier to get the harps out of those, too.
the problem with the seydel, imo, is the lips of the case. it hinders grabbing the harps. this is for the 7 on the top and bottom of the case. the 6 that make the middle section home, they are easier to get to, though the flap tends to get in the way.
the velcro sleeve for the stick mic is useless without some additional velcro.

eharp, i just saw a seydel case with all the flaps cut out of it. the owners complaint was the same as yours.
works good and the don't fall out when it's upside down. providing the case is closed. ----------
