Hohner has been offering 5 packs of MB's with a softcase that last year or two. It was only something you could order online through some of the large music suppliers. It was popular enough to warrant making the product more readily available, including in some stores, so they designed a sleave for the product and asked to use my picture...

The picture is from the SPAH '10 blowoff. I had no idea it was even taken, let alone was going to be used, until I got a call in December. ---------- Mike Quicksilver Custom Harmonicas Updated 1/23/11

Congragulations Mike! That is a great keepsake for your scrapbook. Next time I am at a guitar center I will look for it.
Bag: When I was endorsing Hohner harps they never gave any away. They gave a slight discount. Hopefully things have changed and Mike did get a bag of harps! Walter

Awww! All I got from Hohner today was a letter telling me I didn't win the contest for their new harp. Yeap. They sent a letter to rub it in. :(

I hope you got some good out of it. Hohner use to be notorious for never giving anything away. I pioneered the Rainbow Harmonica Program in the austin city schools for hohner. They sent a huge case of harps, songbooks, patches, t shirts, hats, posters. Their hope was this 4 hole harp was going to replace the recorder and lead the masses to the harp in adulthood. Unfortunately those harps were garbage and only 4 holes at that :-) I remember talking to Junior Wells one night at the Lone Star Cafe and asked him why he was playing lee oskars. He said because they gave them to him for free. Hopefully Hohner is treating its endorsees better nowadays. Thanks so much for the kind words, it totally made my morning. This is literally a right place right time kind of thing as they wanted to use non-famous players in some of their marketing and happened to take a pic of me with a MB (had you told me 8 years ago I'd be featured on a product made by the same company that featured John Popper on a product I'd had called BS).
The iPhone pic is in reference to marketing their social media sites, including an iPhone app. I don't have an iPhone so I can't comment on it.
The pic has been brought up in a few casual conversations either at gigs or with friends (actually, I haven't really even shared this to anyone beyond family), and no one seems to get it until I mention Bob Dylan and John Popper, lol. They still don't really get it, though. Maybe I need to be more spastic in sharing the news? The pains of being a harp player, lol.
