Just thought I'd see if there was a harp scene in Iran and found a facebook page called Iran Harmonica.
Looking in the Image Gallery, I found photos of Adam and many of the well known players, so this person obviously follows the blues scene quite closely. A lot of it is written in arabic but there are some entries in english.
There was even an entry with an image of our friend Chris Michalek along with some kind words after he passed away.
Anyway, this is what I found on the site and I thought I'd share it with you if you haven't already seen it on YT.
It's completely unaccompanied harp with whooping like I never heard before and some damned fine stomping. Can anyone confirm that this is a diatonic harp and not a tremelo. It sounds like diatonic and it doesn't look as long as a tremelo but I am not 100% certain. I love this piece.
That's some cool harpin'! I'm wondering if those aren't tap shoes. They sure project a lot of sound. I had that old thread with all the different translations for harmonica. I found some pretty cool links pasting those into Youtube. I seem to remember actually that Iran had a lot of posts.
There was a thread about bad habits that we do when we play. Well it looks like he may share my bad habit. at the 1:00 mark of the video he does the pee pee dance as I like to call it. Whenever I play the 7 hole and up I tend to do the same thing. Legs close together or closed or crossed. LOL, my friends are right I do look like I have to go bad!
I think it would be cool for more MBH players to post there. Kind of a good will cultural gesture. ---------- Emile "Diggs" D'Amico a Legend In His Own Mind How you doin'
All the vids on this thread are treasures. It's really interesting to hear different music played beautifully. Diggs your playing is superb.
I once had an Auto Valve Harp many many decades ago. It was an old Hohner and it fell to pieces & I threw it out.
