I'm not sure what the original recording effect was on this song. Lennon's vocals had a chorus or flange feel to them. I've added Flanger Reverb to recreate that out-of-worldy effect on harp.

Nice playing GreyowlPhart! I was up there in the stars for a few minutes. Sounds like your input level may have been a touch too high in spots but what do I know.

@ncp Thanks. BTW You are right about the input levels, I was having problems with the levels, first the backing track was too loud, then the harp too quite, then a few playing cock-ups and finally the end result which was the best of the bunch. I think the flanger creates a certain pitch which caused the recording to peak a little in places.

I love that song. Nice playing. Maybe if you are having level problems you could record it on a track and mix it with the backing track in post production?

Fiona Apple does a really nice cover of this.

Hadn't heard that version by Fiona Apple, another good one is by Rufus Wainwright.
